Great!! Wish my office was like that but they like to make people wait 1-3 months.

I'm happy for you! It is over very soon and you can burn up all those documents!

Now I have other things to worry. Technically I will be Us citizen next week and India has banned all foreign nationals. So I cannot travel to my own home country anymore until they open up their borders . Even Europe is closed for Americans citizens ! I really wanted to treat myself self and at least travel to Europe after all this stress and anxiety attacks I have been through.. I think I am going to hold off on applying passport and wait until things go back to little normal!

Can you travel to India with indian passport and come back to US with US passport? Because you can always be alowed to come back to your mother land.

Can you believe in year Oct 2016 we both were waiting for our case completion and now we both are taking Oath on same day!! It feel very good that I don't have to deal with USCIS anymore..

Its such a great feeling. I truly can’t wait to click delete on the very large file of evidence I’ve had on my computer since 2014. I can’t wait to not have to stress about filing fees, documenting my life for the government and worrying about interviews and petitions.

I Think you should apply for it. Then you have it and can go when things open up again and don’t have to wait for your passport by then. Make that passport your treat!

Oh man I can so sympathize. I was so excited to get my US passport and travel everywhere I had needed visas for before and then wham! Covid struck. I was supposed to be in Europe last week but that got cancelled obviously...

But I agree with @Georgia16, I think you should apply anyway. Also stuff happens and you never know when you need a valid passport.

Unfortunately! its not allowed on anymore! I saw on Indian embassy website, the moment I take oath I am not allowed to travel on India passport anymore. India do not offer dual citizenship and all visa services are suspended for now. so lets see! :)

We're kind of surprised, but not really. The officer told us she thought our office (Salt Lake) was scheduling for the last week of July and to expect a letter in the next week. Since they're not doing the big ceremonies, I think the offices are just scheduling people as soon as they can to stay on top of things.

I am planning on moving to Salt Lake City, Utah next month. I’m just afraid that furloughs will happen on Aug 3 because congress hasn’t actually solved uscis budget crisis. 😢

You can postpone your oath until you will have returned from India.

What’s bringing you to Utah? It’s a beautiful place to live. The good news for you is the Salt Lake office isn’t as busy as most. So hopefully the furloughs won’t impact your case too much.

Yeah india is tricky. You can do this OCI thing though right? I don’t know exactly how that works though, just seen others mention it.

Yup! Oci is still open though and I can apply for it! I think I am going to take this route!

My lease here in Jacksonville expires next week. I got ditched at the last minute by my new landlord, who found someone else willing to stay for 2 years. So I have no commitments now. I checked all the processing times after I saw Amadia's post and the fastest field office in the nation is now Albuquerque NM, at between 6.5 and 8.5 months. I filed the N400 7.5 months ago, would this mean that if I moved there, I could get the citizenship within a month?  And if not, I could certainly send an inquiry for outside normal processing time, right? Has anyone had any experience with that field office though?

I just checked for Miami and the estimated completion time range is 10.5 to 31 months.   Interesting to note that when I applied on July 3rd of this year I was given a completion date of May, 2021 or approximately 10.5 months.  We shall see what happens given that Miami is in turmoil with extremely high Covid-19 infection and mortality rates.
