I realized that processing times likely depend not only on your field office, but also the agent in charge of it.

i applied at the end of October, and I’ve seen several people with the same field office getting interview, and even take the oath, before I even got my invitation to one (happening this week!!)

This process definitely takes patience.

Honestly, I don’t think any of these N400 cases are viewed by an officer until the day of the interview. My impression from the day of my interview is that cases were literally allocated that day and not beforehand. I’m guessing the major portion of the wait is the field office itself...a smaller portion is the complexity of the individual case which only becomes relevant at the time of the interview when a human reviews the facts...

CITIZENSHIP TIMELINE

4/2019: Submitted N400

5/2019: Biometrics (3 weeks)

2/2020: Interview (10 months)

3/2020: Oath & naturalization (11 months)

6/2020: Passport received (3 months)

Officially a U.S. Citizen!

We still have not figured out why the estimates were removed. Could it be the coronavirus? They shut down the USCIS office in Washington state, apparently. That's where a lot of cases occurred. In Florida, 2 people died. Could they be freezing all case processing if the pandemic gets worse? Would oath ceremonies be postponed indefinitely? This is turning into some of my worst fears.

I would contact USCIS on Monday very early in the AM and inquire on the delay or if they have any type of update for you. Be upfront and let them know that you personally know people who filed after you did but got scheduled for interview before you did.

Every case is different and once your case is within their time limit it makes no sense contacting them.Pack a little patience ,your time will come eventually

I did ask the agent this question as well. He was saying something like the estimates were not accurate at the first place so maybe they got taken down for improvement. Not sure whether I should buy it.

The H1 applications are coming in soon, plus the coronavirus, who knows what’s gonna happen next. Fingers crossed.

I share you sense of doom! I think the reality is that nobody really knows how this is going to play out in terms of impact on the operations of USCIS.

My oath ceremony is literally only a week away but I am in NYC where things are rapidly deteriorating so now I'm worried....

I hope its like a system error or something.

Hi guys, this question is about combo interviews.

when you receive your appointment letter (N400 supposing), are we supposed to be notified about that it is going to be a combo interview???

I got my interview date (N400) taking place on April 15th, my I751 is still pending, but they do not mention anything about I751 in the letter…

TIMELINE: NEWARK-NJ

I751 filed ----                         Jan 2019

N400 int schdld ---               April 15 2020

So my estimate was removed. Wondering what is going on.

It most likely will be a combo. Just be prepared with your documents....2017/2018/2019 tax returns, etc.

The app just notified us that my husband’s interview has been scheduled! I am so excited especially since when there were estimates on the accounts it predicted January 2021.

For those who have received their interview dates, did you find out the date online or in the mail?

And has anyone had a combo interview? My husband’s ROC is still pending.

My interview is for April, 22. The letter says I must bring my US spouse birth or citizenship certificate. We don’t have that, we have his US passport, I thought that was enough. Has any of you taken only the US passport and got a proved? Thanks

I recall a member in an older forum taking the spouse's US passport and that was okay. However, each officer is different.
