i had my health check for K1 visa completed in SEP, 2019 ( vaccination incl.), but our wedding will be held earlier than end of 2019, and so the AOS would probably be filed over 6 months after my exam result delivered.

my question are

1) how long does the result valid for? some sites says 6 months some says  1 year ( like the site below).

2) do they required my exam result when filing, or when the greencard interview conducted?

I am not following the timeline, exam in September 2019, wedding prior to end of December 2019, why would you wait another three months to file the AOS?  Regardless, the medical results from a K1 are good for 12 months.  You most likely do not have a full copy of the I693 so you won’t have anything to take to the AOS interview, but you should have a copy of the DS3025 vaccination record which you will include with the AOS package.  The medical exam results should be transferred from your POE to your local office.

Good Luck!

So if I am understanding correctly If you file AOS within a year of DS-3025 Vaccination you don't need I-693 at the interview?

We applied AOS within 4 months of vaccination and 4 weeks after POE. We sent a copy of DS_3025 during AOS filing so we don't need further Medical Exam correct?

We had our interview this past Monday (12/2) and one of the first things the officer asked for straight away was whether or not my wife had done a new medical and asked for the packet. I'm so glad we went ahead and did another one because if we were to have just assumed we didn't need one we would have been screwed.

The officer had everything we originally submitted (K1 packet, AOS Packet, etc.) stacked up on the desk and didn't even look in the stack to see if the medical examination from our K1 was still valid. In fact, there were tons of missing documents. None of the pictures I submitted with both the K1 and AOS were there, they were all mysteriously gone....

Now this is just my opinion, not trying to dismiss or dispute what is stated within USCIS's own policies but why not just spend the extra $250 - $300 to redo the entire thing with vaccinations just to be safe. Especially if you're approaching the edge of the 1 year validation window. By now we all already know that when dealing with the USCIS there are a whole lot of things that don't make sense.

Advice like "well, if they ask you and you are still within the validation window then tell them they are wrong and that policy states otherwise" is probably more often than not going to just aggravate your officer. They ultimately hold the power and arguing with them will do more harm than not. I'd like to get some testimonies on people whom have actually argued with an officer and got a positive outcome for any situation not limited to this one.

Every officer works differently...some can be real pricks, some can be in between, or some can be really sweet.....you just never know. If time doesn't matter to you and you're pinching pennies then it's no big deal to risk it. Otherwise, peace of mind for a few hundred dollars is much better than having your case get stuck in limbo for who knows how long.

We received a letter saying that we needed to bring in the I693’s to our interviews (K1 & K2). We went ahead and did the full exams and took care of the missing vaccinations, even though many people told us we didn’t need to. We will have the sealed envelopes for the interview on 12/17.

Very good that you decided to do so I went through this I did not take in new medical records to interview. I was told verbally by USCIS  and READ BY policy that k-1 medical records for valid for 1yr if submitted on time. So I attended my interview and I did not get approved spot on because the officer told me my wife would need new medical records. (And yes my wife's medical records were complete and stamped at the bottom from over seas still was not enough )  I took in new medical records the following week they told me just wait for approval now It took 4.5 months for me to get a response and today my wife has received her green card and is a permanent resident for 10 yrs . During this wait time we made 2yrs married in November.

Your i693 results won’t be valid if you file 6 months later. Uscis website says AOS should be filed within 60 days from the day the exam is signed off by the doctor. In your case you will have to resubmit documents

There's no I-693 on overseas medical. They're talking about K1 medical done abroad.

This is gonna be valid if they file AOS within 1 year of the overseas medical.

i dont think you can do medical abroad if AOS if being filed

All K1 visa applicants have a medical before getting a visa issued. When we get to the US and apply for AOS, we don't need to do a new medical if we apply for AOS within a year of the medical overseas.

I suggest you to read about how the AOS for K1 works.

Yes the officer had all my original paper work but to me i think she did not have much exp with k-1 cases she looked at my Wifes original medical and she said it was not valid .(even though it was submitted within a yr). She asked us some questions then went for a double take on the medical and she said yep you need a new one i told her are you serious. So then she told me the faster you bring it in the faster your approved i brought them in the called theY officer out and she told me agin to my face im still confused if yours is still expired i never sent the rfe but they accepted the new medical  . She told she will add it to the case and then this happen 4.5 months later a response so i will never know if i really needed to spend that money lol.

unless it was marked incomplete(only reason it would make it invalid), she must be new. no fault of your own. it's just based your luck you got one of the poorly trained ones.
