The bread is great -- I get up early anyway on Saturday mornings, and by the time I leave for work at noon I have a loaf of bread baked and cool enough to eat.

Sausagemeat stuffing -- I use the same recipe my mom uses, which is from Betty Crocker. https://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/classic-bread-stuffing/129aa22f-2203-483e-a7a9-dde5b5c6b715 If you scroll down, there's tips on additions you can make, and that's where the instructions on sausage stuffing is. I love it -- very indulgent. When I make stuffing, I do do it from scratch with day old bread instead of buying cubes.

Stop talking robots, we are talking turkey. :)

TJ's is fine -- if you don't have a car. I do not think I have ever been in a TJ's parking lot that didn't trigger a panic attack. Okay, that's a lie, come to think of it. The TJ's lot in Pasadena is okay, at least the one I used to go to, but mostly they are way too small. I checked out the local options near the new place and there's a Vons and a Gelson's within striking distance (especially love Gelson's) which both have excellent parking lots. I think way too much about parking! I think it's symptomatic of being a Southern Californian.

Amazon's economies of scale causes cheaper prices for consumers, but in the end, the corporatism that's manifesting from this glut of wealth is a trend that needs to be reversed.

In the end, we are all humans and need to be treated with dignity, especially by institutions. The best way to demand dignity is both by using our rights, like voting, to vote in people who will not capitulate to corporate welfare, and by not succumbing to the values instilled by the sleaziest/greediest, that GDP/GNP/EPS is some measure of American prosperity or flourishing when it isn't.

Not Always. The only thing I go to Amazon for now is to read reviews. You would be surprised how many reviews are either that "items are cheaper locally" or "picture shows XX number of items but I only got 1 - bad deal". I would also say it's doubly bad when you start getting into the secondary market sellers. Some of them are OK, and some are complete scammers, and the reviews seem be aggregate sometimes.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

That's quite philosophical. Neither is completely true, I guess -- I definitely don't eat everything I see (have cut down on donut-eating in advance of wedding dress shopping next year, and there are gorgeous donuts on the counter I can see right now), and I don't always see what I eat either (like eating popcorn while I'm watching a movie and it's sort of automatic bag-to-mouth movements).

Oh, my.  Oh my my.  Poor, deluded, probably cult-brainwashed thing...

At the Thanksgiving table:

Susie:  Billy, if you eat one more piece of that pumpkin pie, you'll burst!

Billy:    OK, Sis -- pass the pie and get out of the way!
