I just found this one, although I'm not sure if you can get Muligatawny soup here. I always cheat and use packets for sausage casserole!

Warming Sausage Casserole

By iVillager springdragon

Serves 4 - 6

25g margarine

450g potatoes

2 large carrots

2 large onions

1 large can baked beans

1 large can mulligatawny soup

8 sausages

Grease a large casserole dish with the margarine.

Thinly slice potatoes, carrots and onions.

Arrange half the potatoes in a layer in the greased dish.

Cover with half the onions, all the carrots, the rest of the potatoes, then the rest of the onions.

Pour the can of beans over the layers. Arrange the sausages on top, then pour the soup over them.

Put a lid on the casserole (or greased foil) and bake on 180C/350F/gas mark 4 for 2 1/2 hours until the veg is tender and the sausages are cooked.

Needs nothing with it, but works rather well with chunks of crusty bread

Or there's this Nick Nairn one, I'd just omit the splash of red wine.

1 tbsp olive oil

1 garlic clove, crushed

½ onion, sliced

2 sausages, chopped

100g/3½oz tinned cherry tomatoes

150ml/5fl oz/¼ pint chicken stock or vegetable stock

splash red wine

Method

1. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the garlic and onion for 2-3 minutes or until they have softened.

2. Add the sausages and fry for 1-2 minutes. Add the tomatoes, stock and wine.

3. Simmer for 8-10 minutes or until the sausages are cooked through.

Hope they help.

I just found this one, although I'm not sure if you can get Muligatawny soup here.

I've never seen it. Mainly due to the fact that most beef based products were banned from import into the UK for the longest time (not sure if they still are).

However, my local store sells Colman's sausage casserole mix. ;)

If only they sold the sausages to go in it too!

Actually they do, kind of. They sell these "Bob Evans" sausages that are not only the correct size and shape, but also have a nice herbiness to them that make them taste almost like Cumberland Sausages. They're excellent in a Sausage Casserole, at least as excellent as you're going to get in America.

I know what you mean, I use those for toad in the hole. I'm actually waiting on a recipe from England from a friend for really nice sausages. When I get it, I'll share.
