hi! I’ve dropped out of high school and it takes 4 years to acquire a hs diploma here (czech republic) so obviously that is not an optio. a friend of mine from south africa recommended me an option - the GED test. (please don’t respond with your opinions on the GED I have read a LOT about what this is and i know its not real hs) So I decided to do it and am ready to pass all of the parts - except I don’t want to do it in Europe, I want to do it in the US (the GED answered me saying its legal in certain states and I’ll get a state equivalent) What non-immigrant visa type do I need? That’s the only question I have. Have a nice rest of the day/week/month :)

Thanks !

I highly doubt you will be getting any type of visa to come to the US for the purpose of getting a GED. Your best bet would be a visitors visa because that is basically what you would be doing.

Do you mean just come to the US to write the actual exam itself? Then as above, VWP or B visitor visa.  You’re not coming to study, so you don’t need a student visa. I have a number of friends who have come to the US just to write exams, from SA, they just used B visas.
