I'm fully aware of what would happen if Trump was removed. I'm more concerned about the principle of the thing. If these are impeachable acts, not to bring articles of impeachment, and not to convict, just because you don't like the VP, isn't a good reason.

Exactly, if Trump provides the witnesses that were close the fiasco, and they spoke up, they may be able to explain what really was on the President's mind (there's a concept). 

I suspect though if we have the testimony of Mulvaney, the VP, Bolton and Pompeo would only make it worse for the President.

Impeachment is a political process and I am somewhat intrigued that this may become the new norm, whoever losses and has power of the house will inevitably start Impeachment hearings.

 

Trump is hardly a Saint but with the seemingly current standards I have serious doubts anybody who gets elected will not have something to go after. Obama was not but using the new standards if it was run again I doubt that he would not be.

 

We already have situation where Federal Government does not seem to operate, I can only see things becoming more dysfunctional, quite how things will pan out anybody's guess.

You SHOULD be more concerned about falsely accusing a sitting president.

But how do we know if he is falsely accused if no investigation is carried out? It's just as valid to say now that it's a true accusation as a false one. We just don't know for certain yet.

It is kind of immaterial what you or I think is legitimate about the investigation, except for how it colors our feelings about who we'll vote for next year. We're not doing an investigation here, even if we are doing some vetting.

I did say that nothing had been proven yet. I accept that. I would prefer that my beliefs about what is happening are actually wrong, and nothing wrong happened. Right now, having listened to a lot of the testimony live, and read the transcript, I know what I think is more likely than not. But it's only really a "likely" now -- we don't know. I prefer to know more before making a decision here.

If "wrong" were not the daily norm for DC, I'd eat my hat, and gladly.

 

If Trump is in any way corrupt, he is but the tip of the proverbial DC iceberg, IMHO.  Not saying that makes him any better, but he is certainly no worse than Obama, Hillary, Comey, Warren (how DID she get so rich on a public sergeant's salary???), et al...
