:D Ewan & I had our AOS interview on Friday the 24th in Seattle and were approved!!! :D

We had our appointment at 2:30, and hoped our interviewer had been having a good day. I had been in such a panic making sure I had all of our paperwork sorted, plenty of pictures, and plenty of proof. Since everyone's experience is so different, I figured better to be over prepared and have everything they could possibly ask for. It ended up that our interviewer looked through our photo albums and never looked at one bit of our paperwork. At one point she did ask what proof of co-habitation we had, so I opened the folder to that section and she never even looked. It was as though she asked to see how we reacted and that was good enough for her. The whole interview lasted about 40 minutes, oddly enough our interviewer talked more than we did.

I am such a worrier and Ewan is calm, and of course this time he was right.... we had nothing to worry about!

So that's us done for 2 years!! Yipee

Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences and advice... we couldn't have done it without all of you!

Alana & Ewan

Thanks!

Yes, we were told that Ewan would receive his greencard by mail in 7-10 days.

As for our documentation we took everything possible....

I used clear sleeves for everything (originals on the front side and copies on the back) and had it all in a 3 inch 3 ring binder.

It was divided into sections:

USCIS (NOA's, Approval Letters, AP, EAD, etc... with the most current on top)

Citizenship/ID (Birth Certificates, Marriage License)

Copy of our AOS submission

Copy of our I-129F submission

Money related items (Affidavit of support, employer letters, paystub copies, tax copies, bank statements, copies of car registrations, beneficiary info on investments)

Misc Proof (Airline tickets, mail addressed to both of us, receipts from our wedding, cards to both of us, a copy of my Grandmothers obituary in the newspaper with us listed as survivors, etc)

I also took several photo albums, one that was pictures from the day we met (yes we have pictures of that) through New Years this year, another with just wedding pictures, and finally a mypublisher.com book that my cousin made us for a wedding gift that basically follows our relationship from when we met.

Again, it seemed that the photos seemed to be one of the most important things. I love pictures so it was hard to pick which ones to take with us. Reading what other VJ'ers had said, I figured the best would be obviously of the two of us and the ones showing us with our family and friends. She looked through all of our albums and asked questions about different places we had been, she would point to a picture and ask when and were the photo was taken and who we were with.

Alana
