MY wife overstayed her B2 visa and we are filing I-485 which requires:

  • Proof that you have continuously maintained a lawful status since arriving in the U.S.

Can you provide examples of proof?

Your wife overstayed so she has not lawfully maintained her status.  She is out of status.

You can not provide proof.

She's adjusting status as the Immediate Relative of a US citizen, you don't have to worry about this.

After my wife and I met and she overstayed her visa she sporadically worked. Is working illegally grounds for rejecting a green card application?

As long as she didn't claim to be a US citizen in order to work, it should not be a bar for AOS purposes in her circumstances. She should not work again until she has an EAD or green card.
