Delayed in receiving NOA1 (merged topics)

Hi, I’m currently in the Philippines and my husband filled our I 130 application 3 weeks ago(November 1). He sent the application to the Phoenix AZ Lockbox but up until this time, we haven’t received anything from the USCIS. He tried to call them, and the response that he’s getting is that he’s name is not yet on the system. He included a credit card charge form since he cannot find his check book lol.

My question is, this is this normal? I’ve read a few blogs, and they said that usually USCIS will send the NOA1 within 2-3 weeks after submitting the petition. Should we be worried that the I 130 packet got lost somewhere?

Hello ,

If you don’t mind and in order to help you could you tell me if your husband credit card been charged of the fees ?

are you sure that the lockbox received your package ( Tracking number )?

i had the same problem last year . My package arrived at the lockbox and USCIS never had it so I had to send another package .

wait maybe again few days and if still nothing maybe you will have to consider to send another package 📦 .

in the doubt don’t wait too much to not waste time as it’s a long process 😕

Hi, thanks for replying.

No his card hasn’t been charged yet, and I’m not sure if the lockbox got it because he accidentally lost the receipt when he sent the I-130 packet. I already ask him if he can call the post office to see if he can get a tracking number. I’m getting really worried about it.

My question is: can my husband file for another I-130 petition for me even though we already filled last November 1. The reason I’m asking is because we haven’t got a notice from the USCIS that they got the petition and when he tried to call, they said his name is not yet on their system. Unfortunately he lost the receipt number from the post office and we cannot track the package. He used his credit card to pay for the filling fee and he hasn’t been charged as well.

You know it can take up to 30 days for them to send out a NOA1 right?

@Cyberfx1024 no sorry.  According to the blogs that I’ve read, NOA1 notices are sent 2-3 weeks after filling.

What blogs are you reading? Because every petition is different some take 2 weeks and some take 4 weeks

Where are you having your NOA1 mailed to? The Philippines?

In California. He also sent a G-1145 form so that he’ll be notified via email or sms.

Two points I want to make here

1) We wasted 9 months for a package that was lost by USCIS and we weren’t good at following up. We’re paying the price now. This week would’ve seen an decision had it been processed.

2) If it is lost, file online. It’s now available and seems the more sensible approach.

I’m really gutted our package was lost :(
