My wife went to the Olongapo NSO office to apply for our marriage license and because our original license from the LRO isn't in their system yet , they stamped the LRO license, with their official stamp. They told her it would be good for the U.S. Embassy. I have serious doubts that it will and I am thinking about contacting the NSO and seeing where I can get. Has anybody had similar experiences with the NSO like this ?

  • 1 month later...

My wife went to the Local Civil Registry and made sure they had forwarded our marriage license/contract to NSO. She must have contacted the right oerson because they made sure it was forwarded and helped her with the request. The Manila NSO is much faster than it used to be and I would hope Olongapo has improved their times also.

Documents at LCR (whether BC, MC or DC) are usually submitted and forwarded to NSO after 6 months and that's the time NSO will process it and put it in their system. Tell your wife to request an endorsement letter from Olongapo City-LCR addressed to NSO in Quezon City. She will also received a copy of the endorsement letter, then she can go to NSO-QC (Vibal Building in Quezon City = not the main NSO) and present her endorsement letter. When they see that they already received the 1st endorsement from LCR, she will get the "unconverted" copy of your MC. I believe it is still p60.00 for the unconverted copy. May take 2 weeks in all, depends on how fast Olongapo-LCR will act on the endorsement letter and sent it to NSO. Godo Luck.
