N-400 Part 9 # days outiside US question

Hi Everyone, Wondering if you can help us (forgive me if this should be posted elsewhere...hard to find). My husband is applying for Citizenship through marriage, and Part 9 on Form N-400 is giving us lots of problems. It is asking for the number of days/trips outside the US in the last 5 years, but he only moved to the US 3 years ago when we got married. Are we supposed to include all the days he lived outside the US before marriage in the "total days outside the US" count, minus the number of days he came to visit me in the US...or?

Literarly just typed in "N-400 3 years outside of us"

https://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship/citizenship-through-naturalization/continuous-residence-and-physical-presence-requirements-naturalization

Since you are applying based on the 3 years rule you need to have 18 months presence in the last 3 years, and least 3 months right before you apply.

"Physically present in the U.S. for eighteen months within the three year period before applying in the case of qualified spouses of U.S. citizens (see legal basis) "

They care about since your husband became an LPR.

PS: I assume you are aware that the 3 years start from the moment he became an LPR (residence since date on the card)  and not when he arrived (unless it was a CR1/IR1 and not K1)

Thanks, I am aware of the requirement and qualification, I just don't know how to represent it in the way it's framed on the application (clearly geared toward 5 year applicants).

Yes, I got confused about where to post it, and then there doesn't seem to be a delete option for the extra one...

Did you ever figure out how to represent it correctly?
