So I applied for N400 yesterday and I checked my account today and it said that it should take 8 months the whole process. Has anyone that applied in the past know how accurate their timeline is?

You should check the immigration timelines here on VJ. Some people in Hartford finished before 8 months, while others before 10 months. If your applic does not have any hiccups, then your process should be very fast. Mine in Jacksonville was estimated 1 year, finished in 10 months, and was still one of the slowest over there. Most finish by 6 months in Jax.

Good luck and smooth sailing!

It's an estimate so definitely not accurate. USCIS took 11 months to process my N-400 but the estimated months showed on my account was 15 months.

My husband's took almost 1 year from start to end.  He became a citizen this past July 2019.

But what was his original estimated completion date?

Nice! I like when stuff takes shorter than a year

Thank you all for your responses

I think “it depends”. Mine was estimated at a year and my interview took place exactly one day short of a year since filing. San Francisco field office. I know a number of others on VJ at other FOs have reported it taking faster than estimated originally, and one or two have been slower.

My husband applied in Aug 2019. At first it was saying estimated to be completed by July 2020, now it’s showing March 2020. He had the interview yesterday along with combo interview for 751. I heard the guy checking people in say there should be an oath ceremony in Jan. Hopefully, he’ll have a decision and can make that one. If so, that would be 5 months from filing.

Original estimate was about 9 month to March 2020 but we finished in Dec 2019.

Mine says 8 months. What does estimate wait time of 3 days. For what? To be assigned a biometrics appointment?

If you haven't received your biometrics appointment letter yet, then yes, that's what they'll notify you next.

Thanks! I love these little updates you get on MyUSCIS instead of total silence when you apply by paper.
