Adding dependent before consular interview

Hi everyone,

I am being sponsored by my employer for an EB-3 work visa. Right after receiving the welcome letter from NVC with the case number my son was born and our lawyers have requested NVC to issue immigrant visa fees for him as well in order to have our consular interview as a family unit. Problem is, they requested it back in July and we are not sure what is a reasonable amount of time for adding a dependent to an existing case, we have not heard back from NVC since then. Has anyone gone through something similar? What is the expected processing times for adding a dependent right before scheduling interview with the consulate?

Thanks in advance!

I am in the same situation. Had you already paid for anything when your son was born. I thought you could easily add him as a derivative when you start your application. What does NVC say when you call them ?
