Still waiting. It's not changed from March. 😕 At least this is giving my husband time to find a new job. If he hasn't by the time we're scheduled would our backup sponsor need to come to the interview or just bring paperwork?

Question for the interview. I see they mention on the letter to bring a letter from your employer.

Do I (US Citizen) need to bring a letter from my employer? We submitted the 864 form back with the original 485. I never sent a letter back then. I sent my paystubs and tax return.

I plan on bringing our new tax return and my current paystubs.

Hi! We are scheduled on November 9, and it does not look like my husband is going to find a new job until then.

They require pay stubs for 3 months anyway. Even if he does find a job, it will most likely be too fresh.

As far as I know, the co-sponsor does not need to come to the interview. We plan to just bring the signed affidavit.

Good luck!

Hey Meg101, you may want to try calling uscis to see the status. Talk to a tier 2. I just had my husband call about where his packet was, and the tier 2 officer told him that his green card is already in production and we will be getting it in about 5 days! Woohoo!

Hi! What phone number did your husband use to find out where his packet was? I haven’t been able to even get hold of them, let alone speak to a tier 2 officer. Any info you can give would be much appreciated. It’s been 5 weeks now since my interview and I have heard nothing at all! 😔

Can I safely assume you guys have the greencard in hand now? 🙂🤞🏽🎉

Yes, my husband has green card in hand! From the day he called(Monday) they said it was in production. It arrived that Friday. I had him call the contact center live assistance  number from uscis : 800-375-5283. He talked to the first officer and explained the situation after giving initial information and requesting to talk to tier 2. A tier 2 officer called back about 4-6hours later and had the answers. My husband called around 7:30am PST.

Thank you. I will try phoning earlier. I can’t even get around the automated voice system to speak to someone at all, never mind a tier 2. The call just keeps being ended by the automated voice. It’s incredibly frustrating. 😔

so glad you got his though. There’s hope yet!! 🙂🤞🏽

OMG I posted to the regular AOS about this and noone responded but we had the same thing happen, interview was Oct.8 "they" lost our medical records (who? POE? NBC? field office?) and were advised by the less then pleasant agent that there was nothing that could be done, this happens all the time, to go have the exam redone at a cost to us, which we stupidly did, now the new problem is she kept the vaccination records (yes I know I know we should have had a copy) and the civil surgeon needs them to complete the 693. Oh yeh you know there is no way to get a hold of a field office, no phone #, and we even drove back down there as luck would have it they "were out for training" we have called the call center, spoke to TWO tier 2 agents (one was the one who advised us to drive back down there) and the other one said "there is nothing they can do" so now we are out $400 for the medical exam and most likely will have to re-do the vaccines for another $200

So how did things shake out for you?  We were never told she could put in a request,,,,

Ooooh that sounds so frustrating. I am so sorry to hear that.  What is the plan for you now? To re-do the vaccines? Surely there’s a way round that! 😔

When I had my interview on September 10th I wasn’t given any information at all or told to re-do the exam. I was just told he was putting in a request to find it. That’s it. Then heard nothing for the last 5 weeks. I submitted a case inquiry about it myself and I tried to phone today and spoke to a tier 1 agent and they said they can’t see anything on my file and don’t have access to that information. So I said well transfer me to tier 2 and she said they aren’t accepting anymore calls today. I’m in PST and it’s 2:40pm so I thought maybe it’s because of the time difference. She said phone back Monday morning and ask to speak to tier 2. So I’ll try that and update on here with what I find out.

Please keep me updated (feel free to private message) on your process too.

Fingers crossed for us both! 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Our case was a little different from yours. They didn’t actually “lose” our packet. They just didn’t sent the packet to the local officer for our interview. We were waiting for the officer to receive and review it before a decision. We had our decision about 2-3 weeks after our interview. Green card in hand about a month after interview.

Wow! our person didn't even offer that as an option!  She said it probably is sitting in a dead file somewhere and to just get it redone...she said she's seen this too many times....grrrrr.....like I said exam part was already redone now just have to figure out something with the vaccines.  Oh yeh, another frustrating thing is that I've seen people get "courtesy letters" before the exam stating that the 693 was not in their files.  Guess our person wasn't feeling very courteous!

She gifted us with a lovely RFE printed out on the spot dated the day of the interview.  Starting to get used to all these roadblocks.

Hi guys! Still no AOS schedule at 246 sigh.. so I’m getting ready to file for my EAD/Advance Parole combo card this November.. I’ve got a few clarifications / questions, hopefully someone can help me.. thanks in advance!

1. is it still free to file as long as I attach my AOS Notice of Action?

2. What do I write in the portion “ Your current immigration status or Category” Part 2, question 25. I am thinking of “Pending AOS” is that correct?

The courtesy letters have nothing to do with if they have your file or not, it's a generic letter. Some get them, some don't but it's not an indicator for a missing file.

Don't you have vaccination records? Like what did you took to your original exam to prove your vaccinations? Or get a titer test done. That should be fairly cheap

It would have been nice right to get one of those courtesy letters!! Or even be given an RFE or told what to do next but we have been left in the dark. I was advised it's a 50/50 chance of even finding my medical file so I may need to redo mine too. How did you go about finding a local civil surgeon? Was it easy to arrange?

Wishing you the best of luck with the vax!
