Hey everyone, hope your weekends are going good. I have 2 questions I just need a little clarification on.

1. When USCIS sends you the RFIE for the income and needing a joint sponsor, when sending the documents back to them, Do I need to do a new Form I-864 for the primary sponsor or do I just need to do a form for the joint sponsor?

2. For the tax documents, do I only need to submit the Tax Return Transcript if I have it? If not, what else needs to go with it?

Thanks in advance.

Clarifying question:  are you under the income guideline or do you make enough and still asked for joint sponsor?

Tax transcripts and whatever is listed on the rfe. Can’t hurt to do a cover letter too!

Yeah I always include a cover letter. Yeah the paper is just about being under the income guideline and if I choose to use a joint sponsor. Guess everything else was ok with my application but that.

So basically I need the primary sponsor most recent year tax transcript, plus the joint sponsor I-864 and their most recent year transcript?

Just wanted to mention. We mailed the application overnight on December 18th so it was received on early on the19th.  I am thinking your status should update next week if you mailed it regular mail or priority mail.

We mailed on the 12th, but I don't think it matters when you mailed it, but when you got your biometrics done. I went on the 21st, so a week after you. Hopefully I see some changes next week. 🤞

no, they just sent me a new letter for my biometric appointment, because my fingerprints went wrong and the FBI couldn't verify

Ok, and not going against what you say but should I still do last 3 years if the RFE requested the most recent year? Maybe if I showed a pic of the letter I got, maybe everything would be more clearer. Can I do that?

I would stick to what the RFE letter has asked for usually, but If I can provide additional documents without any issues to help my case then I would, just to be on the safe side.

But yes as long as you provide everything that they have asked for then you should be fine.

yes you can share a photo of the letter you got.
