On the I-864 form, we also filled in the asset requirement and not just income.  Given that, do we still need an updated I-864?

If you plan to qualify on assets just bring your updated financial information to the interview.

If you do not and your husband has to go to work in the US before he can qualify then your husband needs to prepare / submit a new one with new employer and income.

Singapore income, no matter how much, will be set to (zero) for purposes of immigration unless he is working for a US company and transferring back to the US and his employment with the same company will continue.

This is not a bad thing at all but a good thing. So don't worry about him moving back and how it can affect the interview.

What's funny is that I am looking to move to Singapore with my family. I am looking at the Tampines area to settle in

Your husband moving back before the interview is good because he will have reestablished a US domicile.

Do you have a Joint Sponsor?

What if he is looking for a job in the USA and hasn't found one? Would the latest tax return still suffice?

Can't use income from a job in the USA that he hasn't found for the I-864.

He can't use the current income because it will end when he leaves to return to the USA for the I-864.

Your husband moving back to the US is not a problem.   This is not going to cause any delays.

You may need to get a Joint Sponsor.  Not having one may delay your case.  Some embassies don't consider assets.

How does one find out if the embassy considers assests or not?
