To those who went to or have scheduled Visa appts in Rio. I went to the consulate website to see if there is a way to check the upcoming schedule for K-visa interviews. I have seen that members with SO's in other countries have seen the schedule for their country online. I could not find it on the Rio website. However, I did see a link on it for a sight to schedule Visa interviews(not neccessarily K-Visas). Could not check it out because it says that it costs $R38. I am hoping that a member going through the Rio consulate can direct me in the right direction. Do we have to pay to check the interview schedule? I hope not. But if I have to I will. However, I don't want to pay money only to find out later that I didn't have to. Thanks....

UPDATE:

http://www.embaixada-americana.org.br/inde...amp;itemmenu=58

I have been searching for a while for a link. For some reason I thought a K-1 Visa was a non-immigrant Visa. On the consulate website I clicked immigrant Visas and found the link.

I found the link, but it is not neccessarily up to date or useful. As of now, June 09, they only have listings for APRIL and MAY. Nothing for JUNE or JULY.??

The link is available for viewing, but it always "late"! The Consulate update's it when they get ready. We never saw our interview date until after the Interview!

I am also waiting for an interview date for my SO. I emailed the consulate about a week and a half ago and they were still scheduling interviews for July. I will email them tomorrow to see if they have received my SO's packet 3 and to see if they have scheduled an interview date. It usually takes them about three to four days to respond by email. I am hoping I will know my SO's interview date by the end of this week.

I also thought K-1 was considered a non immigrant Visa. I suppose that is why I had a difficult time locating information on the consulate website. On the website page on the top if you click Visas it brings you to a page and there has a list of non-immigrant visa types. No mention of Fiance. On the top, if you click on immigrant it will bring you to a page which says immigrants. Under that heading they have links for Fiance and Relatives etc. I am still a little confused.
