My name is Layla and I approve this message.

The missus got it for me because she loves shopping at that store. While the ladies at work have complimented me on the smell. But I do like using dove body wash because it makes me feel clean

I am lucky that my wife loves me to much to do this to me..... She would do this to the older kids but not me hahahahahaha.

She got lucky the other day because we stopped at a Big Lots in a town close to us that's not so good and she ran in to grab a couple things. She came out with 2 big bags full of stuff. She said that the store is closing and everything was 75% off so she decided to scoop up some stuff.

I love that my asawa will wash laundry by hand in a hotel, saving massive $$$ on laundry.

As for me, doesn't matter what shampoo/body wash I use.  Lots of water and a bit of soap is CLEAN!!

Does being called a Ginger have the same connotation in the US?

Not really, in my experience. I had never experienced the anti-ginger sentiment (and "ginger" was NOT a term I heard much referring to redheads until we were in a post-Spice Girls world) here in America, and my mother only started calling me a strawberry blonde when I got a bit older, because I was quite blonde as a little girl. But I got a little redder as I got older. Even now I don't see myself as a ginger/redhead, although I am, sort of, I guess. My redheadedness was never so pronounced that I got made fun of over there or over here.

This apparently is Strawberry Blonde  first time I bothered to look up what the term meant, not I think a Ginger.

Probably negative. In the US we tend to value being able to get a tan.. coincidentally, one of the toughest things to maintain in Canada, where we have to take Vitamin D supplements. I get depressed seeing my nice tan melt away every winter.

That being said, the only people I know of in the US and Canada using the term "Ginger" are millennials and younger, and they don't ever use it publicly (only see it used online), unless they're asking to get punched in the mouth.

Well I was out digging snow for most of yesterday, and I can feel the sunburn this morning...

And I woke up to the sound of wind, which probably means more digging.

When I got back in it was about 20F,  so relatively warm.

Was pretty warm here as well. We've had a spat of chinooks lately. Think it was 6C (around 40-45F).. which I'll take any day in the winter. While feeling this sick, I hate when it sits -17 to -30C (1F to -22F), which it usually is around this time.

Well an inspection shows no digging needed to get out and we have a high supposedly above freezing, so sun bathing today.

I am a little more gingery than that. But yes, it's not the full on redhead look. More Amy Adams than Christina Hendricks.

I only really started using the term ginger when all of these British people started filling up my life, though I do distinctly remember people starting to say it in the late 90s.

People who think tanning is a marker of health and vitality need their heads examined. Sun is good for you, tanning is not! I have been a devotee of sunscreen since I was a girl -- my mother always kept my sister and me slathered in the stuff. Not a single line as I face down 35 and intend to keep it that way as long as possible.
