I have found that Alan Dershowitz Jonathan Turley and Andrew McCarthy pretty unbiased in their analyses/opinions.  The posted article is clearly biased, and it is not even labeled as opinion/analysis.

Um, I am pretty aware Charlie Pierce is an opinion writer. Isn't it really clear from the tone of the article that it's an opinion piece? Who in their right mind would think this is straightforward reporting?

Unbiased simply doesn't exist, whether left or right. If it's human, it's biased.

 

Even the most trustworthy legacy media has been proven, thanks to social media, as not trustworthy. 

 

At any rate, I don't know what to think of Bill Barr. From what I know of his history, he's a raging neocon. I can't be sure yet that he's actually doing anything useful for Trump until I see results, like indictments, rather than all this theater. PR and positioning has become a lot more blended with government actions, which is an even more disturbing recent trend. We see this with 17 intelligence bureau people leaking stories against Trump to affect election 2016, his Presidency, election 2020, see it with the Nadler and Schiff run House committees. Even see it in the GOP, with Flake, with Romney, with McCain, with Corker, Burr...

 

Either way, I'm a person who judges on actions. Barr to me is still a neocon until he proves himself otherwise. Neocons in the GOP (that aren't flocking to Dems) are a bigger threat to Trump than Democrats are.

Umm, that is what I said, but in general editorials, opinion pieces, or op eds are put in a separate section.  I guess Esquire feels otherwise.

I agree with you that bias exists everywhere.  As to Barr, I also don't know what will come of the Durham investigation, but  I do find it interesting that Barr has maintained a fairly low profile, yet he is certainly under attack by the Left in Washington and the media.  It almost seems like they are trying to discredit him prior to anything coming out of the DOJ.  Who knows?

Esquire is a general men's interest magazine. It is not a news magazine, although it contains news. One would expect a news magazine or newspaper or online news source to mark these more clearly, but that isn't Esquire's focus. Alex subscribes, and it's pretty clear to me at least what the thrust of the magazine is from reading it, too.

 

Question: is it considered stealing, @Nature Boy 2.0, if I read Alex's copies?

And accused by Virginia Giuffre of having sex with her when she was underage. She's suing him for defamation, he's countersuing her for defamation, and now her old attorney is suing Dershowitz for defamation. What a mess!

 

My dad (a lawyer) used to really rate Dershowitz for being a brilliant mind who wasn't afraid of expressing unpopular opinions. The Giuffre accusations really changed his mind -- I think he could see a bit of my sister and me in Giuffre, particularly my sister who was a bit wild as a teenager and secretly dated older men when she was still in high school. (I knew; my parents didn't until we were adults and they lost their minds.) I would of course like it if the accusations were untrue -- who wants these things to be true? We'll see how this all pans out.
