Petitioner Changing Jobs During Processing of Beneficiary's Visa

My Wife's I-130/129 is currently being processed. We're waiting for the NOA-2. I'm considering applying for a new job and am curious about the ramifications it has during the visa process. I know the next steps are to provide employment status/financial numbers/previous tax records, etc the fun stuff. 

 

Have any of you guys as a Petitioner changed employment (voluntary/non-voluntarily) during the visa process? How did it effect it? Curious if it's a good time to do it now or later. Any thoughts would be welcomed.

Answer:  Changing jobs during the process is very common.  Both jobs this year will show up on next year’s taxes and next year’s paystubs will show continuing YTD income from the first of the year.

I changed jobs. not an issues as long as you still make enough. Keep your pay stubs from the new job and get a letter of employment from your employer just before the interview

Changing jobs is not an issue.   

 

For NVC and the embassy they may want an employer letter and copies of pay statements.

Why did you file the I-130/I-129F .. K-3?    K-3 is "obsolete",  it will be converted to an IR/CR-1.

There's speculation/theory that submitting the K-3 expedites the I-130 once it arrives for processing. Yes the K-3 will be denied but the I130s are approved instead. There's no harm in trying.

That "speculation" is based upon filing the I-130, then later filing the I-129F .. "they" say when that is done it moves your case file to the top of the stack ... jury is out on that one.
