Hi All, not sure if I'm on the right forum, but my US sponsor wife, sponsored my minor daughter(US sponsor is not her biological mother) and I, about a month ago we finally got our permanent green card (10 years)

I found out a week ago that she has been cheating and stealing my money and sending it to the person she is cheating with. She asked me for a divorce when I confronted her about it we had a heated exchange of words and she said that she can file custody for my daughter because she is the sponsor and step parent and make me pay.

Any truth to her claims? Im stressing out so much over this, any help appreciated.

Bwaaaa!!!!!!!!  She is such a stupid liar.

She has ZERO claim to file custody for your child.  Being a stepparent gives her ZERO rights to custody of your child.  Being the petitioner/sponsor gives her ZERO rights to custody of your child.  She can't make you pay for anything.

Tell her to go right ahead and file.  Waste her time and money.

You have 10 years green card.  Divorce and move on with your life.  Get your daughter away from her.

That is part of the divorce and both side can file claims up their eyeballs. As to if she actually has any rights to the step child, I don't think so, unless she formally adopted the child.

But realize in a divorce like this, she will try to file any claims she can think of, anything from the child, to the car, to the house, to the refrigerator, ...
