Tourist visa

My son and I are having our birthdays in January and would love to invite my sister to come over from the Philippines. I know it is so hard to apply for a US visa especially with the young age because they think people will just probably stay in the US and not leave. My sister is in her mid 20's and I have been wanting to have her visit us. She have saved a pretty decent amount and have savings in the bank and she have a property she have been paying for back home. She also have been back and forth to Japan for work for 5 years. She have done so much for the family financially that we think she deserves to come here for a treat and see us. Anybody had a recent experience with their family applying for tourist visa? I know there is an instruction and I read it but are there anything else my sister can bring to help w her interview?

There's nothing your sister can bring to the interview that can help her.  Everything the US Embassy needs to know is on the DS-160 visitor visa application.  All your sister needs to do is file the DS-160, pay, and go to the interview.  Nothing is needed from you.  There are no tricks or secrets to getting a visitor visa.

The things they look for are ties; owning property, good job and money in the bank helps to provide ties to the Philippines, still her getting a tourist visa is an uphill battle in the Philippines.

All she can do is a apply .. and roll the dice

I have not looked up the requirement for the tourist visa, but I sort of doubt it.    OK .. made me look it up      Answer is -- Nope.

No.

She needs to fill out the DS-160.  Pay for it.  Sign up for an interview.  Bring the payment receipt and her passport to the interview.

That's good to have but the interviewing officer won't care about that. He will want to know if she will return to the Philippines when her tourist visa has ended. If there isn't a mountain of evidence showing that she will return, and if there's a risk of her staying in the USA for longer than her tourist visa, it will be denied within minutes. Right now, it doesn't look like she has enough ties to her home country.

Tourist visa's are always iffy in the Philippines. All your sister can do is submit the paperwork, got to the interview, and hope for the best.

Example:  Wife's cousin is a single mom with teenage son, she is a teller at a bank. They wanted to come visit us, and both were granted a 10 year tourist visa, first time applied.

My stepdaughter is in the states six or seven times a year, (flight attendant for Emirates), and has been refused twice for a tourist visa.
