Nervous !

Hello to everyone.

I am nervous on income requirements for going back three years....2016,2017 and 2018. $21,137 is minimum for two of course. I fell $450 under that in 2016 went WELL over that in 2017 and 2018. I followed ALL the procedures in the USCIS website and spent 2 weeks accumulating my assets. I am 66,my wife is 56. Been married since Dec of 2017. I have ZERO DEBT, own many homes, all are paid off, vehicles paid off and credit cards paid off monthly and a credit score of 815 with a substantial amount in checking, savings and retirement but I hear stories that Manila does not care anything about assets. What? A co-sponsor is out of the question. My visa company told me to write down and swear in writing what my sources of income will be and the amount I earn in 2019. They say they will send it in and gave me a 50/50 chance. SO THE EMBASSY WILL BE RECEIVING FROM ME INCOME AND ASSETS. Not one or the other, but both. I will also send a health insurance quote with the policy number from Regence/Blue Shield to show she will have health insurance when she sets foot in American soil. Anyone with experience in this situation from the U.S. Embassy in Manila? Thank you. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS.

This year (2019) the embassy has accepted assets in two cases that have posted their results here on the forum.  Both received their visas.   In years past the embassy never accepted assets, friends of mine where one of the couples that were denied assets and had to acquire a co-sponsor.    This year has seen a variety changes with the embassy.

As for financial evidence, the embassy only requires your MOST RECENT tax return (which is 2018 at this time).

One the issue of health insurance I do believe that requirement has been tied up in the courts .. thus not in effect as of this moment.

Did you post this in another topic, it seems familiar?

Hi Hank.

I believe I posted that showing health insurance or the ability to get it touching ground in America may be on hold, but I showed it anyway as the main word of the AOS is "support" and not being a charge. So I figured I would show it as it can't hurt.

Embassy won't ask for and most likely won't take the health insurance documents.   But for sure no harm in bringing them to the interview.

I wish you all the best with the interview.   I don't believe you will have any issues.
