Your CEMAR and your marriage contract BOTH must have annotations that your marriage is "NULL AND VOID" before you are considered free to marry in the eyes of the Philippines. Sharia law is another grey area I am not sure what the embassy will tell you but likely they will not accept it. Yes the embassy knows all about Sharia divorces. I am sure someone will be along to add more to your questions.

You were married under muslim law?   Did you give a copy of the divorce decree to the CO for the interview?

Was you CENOMAR/CEMAR new (less than 6 months old)?     If PSA states that the CENOMAR/CEMAR is not notated, then that is the rule.

@Greenbaum  is more up to speed with sharia divorce documents

Did you complete ALL these steps? The steps you must take to present the proper documents to USEM is as follows:

1. Go to the LCRO where the divorce took place. She needs to bring all documents from the court to include but not limited to finality, decision and marriage certificate. Have the LCRO record the divorce.  Make sure the divorce was registered at the place that the decision by the court took place (City A, see #5 above). If the marriage took place in another location, then take all the documents from the LCRO "A" that you just completed from the earlier transaction to the local where the marriage took place if different then the divorce location "B".

2.  Present all documents with endorsements from LCRO "A" to the LCRO where the marriage took place (LCRO "B"). LCRO B will make an endorsements from the documents from "A". And then pay the fee for the NSO endorsement and the mailing of said documents from NSO to the LCRO A. They will forward to NSO for endorsements and NSO will return to you.

3. Then at that time, upon receipt of the NSO documents make the necessary copies and forward to USEM.

This should satisfy USEM and you will then have completed their requirements.  It sounds like a lot of work but the waiting is the longest part as this process can take 4-6 weeks depending on where she lives and the speed of the courier.

Yeah they started a couple years ago by Philippine request not honoring Sharia law divorces that were married in a Christian church. Because as you know this was a loophole that people did to get divorce without having to do annulment.

My marriage certificate already has annotations that im already divorced but my cenomar stays the same. The psa says that only annulment they can put annotations in my cenomar but divorced from sharia will stay the same. So i will pass my cenomar together with my marriage cert as a proof that im already divorced under the sharia.. So its clear now.. That cenomar stays the same.. Thank you guys..

i'm married in a sharia law because my husband is a muslim but im a christian.. We never get married in church..

If you converted prior to marriage and can prove that to the CO then you will be fine. But if you never converted I believe you will have an uphill battle. Just the same best of luck and come back after you hear something from the embassy.

Yes need to convert before the divorce because one of the reqs in PSA is the conversion..

I'm sorry but that is wrong. You must convert BEFORE you marry else you will be flat out denied. That's how it worked after we went through and many have reported the same information. I would be curious to know if this has changed.

Can you please do a little housekeeping and complete your profile?

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks
