It's ridiculous on the face of it. As if all of these men, especially the older men, just happened to be a foreign exchange student, or happened to be on holiday abroad, where they discovered their soul mate. But many here think of it as a dirty secret, to be kept locked away as one might have done a hundred years ago and kept a mentally ill relative locked away.

You know if one keeps seeing ads for buying a bride on this website, as they keep endlessly mentioning as some great proof of strange claims, I'd suggest they curtail their internet behavior, or at the very least employ an ad-blocker. If they do not know how to do so, I'm sure they can afford to hire an IT guy to make it all go away.

I never complained about the ads. I don't remember what exactly began the conversation, and I have no interest in wasting my time by searching through old posts, but I do not believe I complained about the ads. (and if it comes to light that I was complaining, then I shall take the hand slap, but it does not negate my following points.)

 

As a capitalist, I am happy to allow this organisation to display their ads in my browser, in exchange for the services provided. I would further suggest that anyone running "ad blockers" is in fact stealing from this website. Having said that, it is not my fight, and if the VJ organisation does not see fit to pursue this theft, then that is their prerogative.

 

I also have no idea what "strange claims" you believe I am making. I suggested that there are MANY men on this site who pay money for access to women who are interested in online "dating," with the eventual goal of marriage. Neither have I suggested this is illegal, and in fact I have said several times that I do not care how two consenting adults conduct themselves. It would be hypocritical of me, a capitalist, to believe otherwise.

 

What I HAVE said is that there are people here, you among them, that seem to believe pointing out the aforementioned transactions simply exist is somehow shameful, and somehow casts a shadow of disgrace on the VJ community at large. In my opinion, this is not only disingenuous, but it denies what I believe to be a very large subsection of the VJ community the support every other member here receives. In my mind, it's shameful.
