Immigration Visa ‘Tentatively’ Approved? After Interview

Hi Everyone, 

 

My wifey went for the visa interview and they gave a paper saying that ‘Congratulations, your Immigration Visa has been ‘tentatively’ approved and visit the embassy on a specific date for a ‘likely’ issuance of visa. 
 

What’s the meaning behind ‘tentatively’ and ‘likely’ in this context? Does this mean that there is a chance that she will not get the visa?
 

Also, if all goes well, will she have an interview at the port of entry?

Nothing is final until the visa is issued. The case will go through some additional checks still - usually a background check and/or documents check.

Technically there is an interview for everybody at POE, even for USCs. Usually it's very brief and informal. It's nothing like the visa interview or anything to be worried about.
