Quick preparation questions

Hi, I just have some quick questions in preparation for the interview.

1) Signature on letter of intent: unfortunately my USC fiance won't be able to accompany me for the interview. Since that's the case, she will have to email me her signed version of the Letter of Intent. Would that be ok? or do I need to provide the original copy/one with the original signature? In that case she would have to mail it to me.

2) Evidence of Domicile: The embassy is requesting us to provide "evidence of domicile". What do we need for that? Is a copy of the petitioners rent/lease contract enough?

3) Chat logs: We added chat logs for our I129-F application. Is adding chat logs necessary for the embassy? We're thinking of skipping the chat logs.

Thank you in advance.

scanned and printed copy of letter of intent is fine for the majority of consulates. technically it should be fine for all, but when we were going through the k1 process, i know there were still a couple that were following outdated info of needing an original. that may have been remedied by now

his lease or drivers license will suffice

chat logs not necessary

Which embassy are you interviewing at?

I included no chat logs, ever, but you do have to show that the relationship is ongoing since you filed the I-129F 6+ months ago.  You can't just rest on the I-129F petition.  Give them evidence on paper that the relationship is still continuing.

We brought new, updated letters of intent to the embassy, but they didn't ask for them.  In your case, they might. I would have her send you a scan of the letter and mail you the original and use the scan only if the original doesn't arrive.

I'm not familiar with the letter of domicile.

Thank you for your response!

Quick and random question that's off topic, but I was looking at your timeline and I noticed that you expedited your EAD and AP, and you received both of them in one month (if I'm reading correctly).

I'm aware that I need an offer letter to request an expedite for my EAD. Is that what you did and how you got it? Also, how can you expedite the AP as well?

Thanks again for your feedback 😊

Yes you need a job offer in the majority of cases. My husband essentially transferred from his work union in canada here and the union, and a previous employer of his who also has offices here provided the job offer. from start to finish it took right about a month. We did not ask for AP but it was given as well.

1 - i provided the letter of intent to marry with the wet/original signature. during the document verification, the CO asked me if it's a photocopy or not and replied it was not a photocopy. not 100% sure but i assume that she is looking for a wet/original signature for this letter.

2 - i brought with me her original and photocopy of US citizenship certificate, copy of her driver's license, copy of her passport, title deed as proof of domicile but never asked during document verification. not even listed in the laminated paper they gave (order of documents before document verification).

3 - chat logs not needed. not in the list in preparing the order of documents.
