Hello everyone,

I transitioned from army last year so couldn't get a decent job to sponsor my spouse. I get some amount as disability compensation every months, combining with the earning from 2018 was enough to meet minimum poverty line. but compensation is tax-free, didn't show up on the tax transcript so NVC didn't count it as a income. I was suggested to get a Joint sponsor. I am in need of a Joint Sponsor for my Spouse. I have some questions to clarify. Please help me.

1. My Joint Sponsor had filed joint tax with his wife, but his income (which is $34,000 for 2018) is sufficient to sponsor and his wife had only worked for a month on that tax year. Will there be a need to file I-864a by his wife?

2. Now, His household size is 2 (Him and his wife), if he become a joint sponsor, will his household size becomes 3 or 4. (do I will be included on his household or my spouse only ).

3. Will Consulate consider my disability compensation as a income if I provide my statement from Veterans Affairs and enough proof.

4. Its been almost a year, I have a decent job now and I have enough proof to meet minimum requirement. do they consider recent income.

Thank you for your time!
