Canadian applied with 1 Last Name, Passport with other

Based on my lawyers suggestion, I applied through the IRI process with my "new" married last name. My interview is in December, and my passport still has my old maiden last name. I need to register for my interview, and you need to include your passport information. Will there be any issues at my interview if I interview with my maiden last name? Strangely enough, my interview email sent from NVC has my maiden last name associated to it. I think because, so far, all scans of my passport has had maiden last name on the scans, even though the documentation had my married name. I know this is sort of jumbled, but hoping somebody who has been in a similar situation can advice. Thanks!

Visa is issued to the passport name,  that's why NVC is using your passport name

YMMV

So it won't be a problem that I have new last name completed in some of the application? I mean my husband's last name is on the marriage cert. so they obviously know I'm the same person!

They took the information from my scan, I suppose?

Just understand that the GC will also come in that name

The question you should ask yourself is: do I want my green card to reflect my married name?  (note that other documents, SS card, etc. will initially be issued in that name).

If it is important for you, then update your passport. If not, just wait until you renew your passport.  Passport Canada will want to see another ID (ex. driver's licence) in addition to your marriage certificate to change the name in your passport.  With the IR1 process, you will receive a 10-year green card, so, unless you pay to replace your green card, you will have your maiden name there for 10 years.  Personal decision.

There will be another chance to change your name legally when you apply for naturalization, which will be 3 years after you become a permanent resident.

One point of clarification, you wouldn't apply for a name change in the naturalization process, just apply for naturalization with the new name.

Will this delay my process later on? (In 3/5 years)

It should not.

You should check if your state will issue you a State ID or driver's licence in your married name if your other documents are in your maiden name though.  As long as you are ok with not all of your document reflecting your married name, the only complication you will have is a document mismatch and the possibility of having to show your marriage certificate once in a while (e.g. when traveling, and or in other situations where you will have to explain why all of your documents are not matching).
