Yeah it sounds very much like it was legal to me. Also this is the SCV where you know it's mostly middle class suburbanites living there, so you know it was more than likely his parent's.

Not to mention 45s are more expensive than say a 9mm or a .40. So they are usually prized weapons for us menfolk.

That's kind of what I thought. I haven't spent too much time up there except for going to Magic Mountain, but the people I worked with at my old job in marketing who lived there fit into that category. They had young kids and wanted somewhere affordable with good schools, and the commute from what I recall wasn't terrible.

That fits Santa Clarita to a tee. Those that can afford it move there, the ones that want to get away with no money move to Palmdale/Lancaster

The majority of .45s are single stack, so they would likely meet CAs ridiculous gun laws.  But even if it is a double stack mag, it ain't gonna matter at this point.  Homicide is homicide.

WASHINGTON (CBSMiami/AP) – The Secret Service has released new research on targeted school violence.

The agency’s report found most students who committed deadly school attacks over the past decade were badly bullied, had a history of disciplinary trouble and their behavior concerned others but was never reported.

In at least four cases, attackers wanted to emulate other school shootings, including those at Columbine High School in Colorado, Virginia Tech University and Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.
