The reason they do this is because it gets the populace fighting with one another, so they can avoid scrutiny and get re-elected with a -500% approval rating.

It's not interesting because it means anything to Trump being removed (would need 20+ GOP "convict" Senators) , the three names are interesting in their circumstances that place them in these categories.

 

Susan Collins tries to market herself as fair. To some degree, she is. What she doesn't get is, if she at all jumps on board with this, she'll alienate herself from GOP voters. There's not enough moderate Democrats/Trump supporting independents to overcome this. Because she's an old politician, and tries to be a moderate, so she's also susceptible to using popularity measures to gauge her actions.

 

Murkowski is relatively safe, not up for re-election until 2022, and has shown she can withstand both parties' attacks on her. I see this as a real possibility. 

 

Romney is Romney, is the swamp Trump campaigns against. Utah voters should've known this, but he's there for the entirety of Trump's first 8 years. Trump just has to hope in 2024 Romney doesn't get re-elected, otherwise Trump's 3rd and 4th terms will be more difficult! 😂 Seriously though, this is another likely Guilty vote regardless of evidence. So, right now, looking at 49 Guilty votes, 50 depending on Collins. No idea where they're going to find 17+ more.
