The impeachment goat and pony show

I always wonder about these Polls, who do they ask, I know I have never been asked so question if they after a true Independent view.

 

Anyway Impeachment is decided by the Senate, not by Pollsters. I still think if the Dems really wanted to win in November then there are much better ways of achieving this, a decent candidate and policies would be where I would start.

As the Dems showed in 2016, they would rather try to fix elections rather than put up a winning candidate.

Also, we have seen plenty of the Republican narrative since September. We saw it on the House floor during the inquiry, we've seen it in the media. I don't know how it's possible to say that the Republicans and Trump and the White House haven't been able to communicate what they think about the impeachment.

 

He means their narrative through the "official" process of impeachment and other Congressional powers clearly being wielded in this fashion. It's why Democrats have tried so hard to push for their way in the Senate as well for what's an obvious sham. 

 

The worry isn't for the removal (if the defense was worried about removal they'd not have left so many hours on the table), that's not going to happen, the worry is this being used as government funded PR campaigns against Trump re:Election 2020. The Dems have outright said Trump will get re-elected unless they pursue this angle. Someone playing dumb would presume this to mean he must be removed, but they know this is a joke, the only other reason to keep pursuing this garbage is as PR (trying to affect the outcome of the 2020 elections), and it should be treated as such. If I was the Trump campaign and the House GOP I'd begin filing lawsuits the second another impeachment charade comes up.

Well of course. But it's not like impeachment happens in a vacuum. People are watching, voters are watching. And if they don't like what they see coming out of the hearings, even an acquittal (I guess it's an acquittal?) might not be enough for them to say hey, I trust this guy for another term. It's not like when OJ was acquitted, that everyone said, yeah, he's innocent.

It's not about guilt or innocence, it's about PR. No one with a brain is considering this matter in the sense of guilty vs. innocence. It's all a charade at this point. It's just about "wants Trump gone" or "not".

 

What this is about is psychologically beating people down with negative PR about Trump, not just in the media, but using the government as an election PR arm, and that vulnerable demographic succumbing (or not).

Kinda how like science is malleable to popular vote (manifesting the way religion did/does), the truth works the same psychologically. The left know (and they're not the only ones who know) a certain sect of weak-minded people can succumb to political pressures, inundating people with negativity about a target to drive people away from them. That cognitive dissonance will wear them down and they'll get tired of fighting it, even if they don't "believe" what they're being inundated with. 

 

This is why I say, independents, moderates, and people on the right who think this is about the truth (and wasting their time on "gotcha" stuff demonstrating the left's repeatedly awful/incorrect arguments) are going to get trampled by this. It's quite clearly not about the truth, it's entirely about getting their way.

i wonder when the democratic party will learn. I've spoken to a lot of American friends (usually younger) who once leaned liberal and are now thinking of voting for trump because of all this nonsense, along with the election fixing by the dems. It's not just trump rhetoric that people are getting sick of this stuff. I really think this next election will be a landslide when they put up biden, or in my opinion, hillary will try to run.

I don't know anyone my age (34) or younger who would even consider voting for Trump. You and I are anecdata. We know who we know, and that's not an accurate sample of the country. You can't say your experience actually is  worth more than mine, they have the same value. (I'm guessing that I'm younger than you, and also guessing my circle of friends and acquaintances is also younger than yours, too.) We are both correct but only in our own experience.
