Proving that these attacks on Trump from the media and government are entirely about a political class getting revenge on Trump for getting elected when he wasn't ordained by them to be President...

GOP senator: ‘Hopefully’ Trump will learn lessons from impeachment

Republican Sen. Mike Braun on Sunday said he hopes the impeachment process will “be instructive” for President Donald Trump’s conduct if he’s acquitted by the Senate.

In an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Braun was grilled by host Chuck Todd on how Trump will react to beating articles of impeachment, which is seen as a near certainty in a Republican-controlled Senate.

"This president, as you know, he's going to take acquittal and think, 'I can keep doing this,'" Todd said.

"No, I don't think that," Braun replied. "Hopefully it'll be instructive."

"I think he'll put two and two together," the Indiana Republican added. "In this case, he was taken to the carpet."

"I think Trump will learn, you don't mess with the establishment.. it'll be instructive"

Clearly Mike is part of that swamp, as many Senators are.

Source: Alexander Vindman’s Brother, Yevgeny, Clears Publications by NSC Officials

A source close to the Trump administration informs Breitbart News that Army Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, a senior ethics lawyer for the National Security Council (NSC), is in charge of reviewing all publications by current and former NSC officials.

The official added that Yevgeny Vindman could have seen former National Security Advisor John Bolton’s draft manuscript after it was submitted for prepublication review at the end of December.

The review is a standard process that allows the NSC to review book manuscripts, op-eds, or any other material for any classified material to be eliminated before publication.

The New York Times reported Sunday evening that Bolton’s draft book manuscript, which had been submitted to the NSC for prepublication review on Dec. 30, alleged that President Trump told Bolton in August 2019 that he wanted to withhold security assistance to Ukraine until it agreed to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, among others.

It was not clear if the Times had seen the Bolton manuscript; its sources were “multiple people” who “described Mr. Bolton’s account of the Ukraine affair.”

Bolton’s lawyer, Chuck Cooper, issued a statement in which he said: “It is clear, regrettably, from The New York Times article published today that the prepublication review process has been corrupted.” He did not confirm or deny the Times‘ reporting on the content of the manuscript.

New York Times: Draft Bolton Book Says Trump Wanted to Withhold Ukraine Aid for Investigations

A draft of a book by former National Security Advisor John Bolton reportedly claims that President Donald Trump wanted to withhold aid to Ukraine until it completed investigations of former Vice President Joe Biden and others, according to the New York Times on Sunday evening.

Bolton’s Lawyer: Draft Book was Leaked to New York Times

Chuck Cooper, an attorney for former National Security Adviser John Bolton, said that Bolton’s book manuscript was submitted to the National Security Council for a standard review for classified information, but its contents appear to have been leaked to the New York Times.

Cooper was reacting to a story in the Times that alleges President Donald Trump told Bolton that he wanted to withhold aid to Ukraine until it completed investigations Trump had requested.

The crux of House Democrats’ case is the allegation that Trump withheld military aid and a White House meeting to pressure Ukraine to investigate Biden and his son, who served on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, while his father was vice president. Trump’s lawyers are expected to argue that the president was justified in seeking the investigation because of a history of corruption involving the company.

No actual facts have changed, but you have another poor decision by Trump to put a neocon in his cabinet coming back to haunt him. Bolton writes a book, conveniently, "leaked" to the media, calling for more use of government power to target Trump for Bolton's "feelings", basically, Bolton didn't like Trump's foreign policy, like a number of the other corrupt people trying to dictate foreign policy over the President.

Trump's placement of Kavanaugh into SCOTUS was to placate the neocons who took over the GOP establishment. That's why Flake came around, why Collins came around, why a number of GOP people came around. If it were anyone else besides who the neocons preferred, it would've never made it out of committee.

If re-elected, Trump is going to have to contend with this toxic environment of neocons (along with everything else, but neocons in his own circle) and swamp creatures to clean house. I suspect he will, which is why they're now rallying against him before the election. I also suspect he'll go after Senate swamp things more aggressively.

It also makes me wonder what the future is for Pompeo. Every bit of a neocon as Bolton. Is it the same fate for Pompeo? Post-election firing, book, etc.? Do they work out some arrangement?

When I say "government power to target Trump for Bolton's "feelings".." I mean this is an attempt to make the Senate trial like the House sham.

Legally, this is nothing to Trump, there's nothing Bolton would say that's going to prove Trump did anything, it would just be a feelings charade like the prior hearings. I "heard" Trump say things we already knew he said, but focus on Bolton's subjective "feelings" of what he interpreted them to mean, which as we know, will be negative toward Trump because Trump didn't share his foreign policy views and ultimately fired Bolton, who also was doing some other shady ish behind Trump's back, as we saw with the Fiona Hill and co. Ukraine hearings.

There's no way Trump gets a guilty verdict on this, however, the clear idea to push Bolton forward isn't for removal, it's for the election. And this is precisely why it should not happen. Abuse of government power, and enforcement processes, as an election PR campaign. Gross corruption. Bad people are desperate to try and continue this. If we see the Senate acquit Trump or dismiss the case in a short amount of time, the House will undoubtedly waste more taxpayer money and time to try and drum up something else before the election because they have no election policies to win on.

What is interesting to see is a bunch of Leftist politicians and media types embracing a neocon like Bolton.  We all know how that will end.

Fifty percent told Fox News that Trump should be convicted and removed, and 44% said he should not. Registered voters' impeachment opinions largely fell along party lines, with 81% of Democrats favoring the president's removal and 84% of Republicans opposing it. Independents said Trump should be removed by a nearly 20-point margin, with 53% in favor of conviction and 34% opposed.

A small demographic of independents (that may or may not be consequential) are moved by narratives of any given day. Even that small amount is an unfortunate sign, but not surprising. Positive signs in this sense being reaffirmed has a higher probability result in Democrats using Congressional powers to pull stunts like this right before the election.

I agree, plus the fact that we have only seen the Democrat narrative since September until last Saturday.

So if this poll is taken again now, and the result is the same or similar, would that be enough to say that independent support for impeachment and removal is something meaningful, and perhaps a worrying sign for Trump's reelection prospects?

Also, we have seen plenty of the Republican narrative since September. We saw it on the House floor during the inquiry, we've seen it in the media. I don't know how it's possible to say that the Republicans and Trump and the White House haven't been able to communicate what they think about the impeachment.
