Hi, I have asked this question here before however I have not heard back so I am worried. I am the beneficiary and live in the UK. My fiance in the US has received NOA2, that was around 3 weeks ago. I understand that the next correspondence will be sent to me from the London embassy, however I recently moved. When I asked about that before on here I was notified to contact the NVC and let them know I have changed address, I have emailed them but have not heard back, that was around 2 weeks ago. I am now really worrying as I know that it may be sent soon and I still think they have my old address and I'm worried I therefore won't receive the letter.

Can anyone please offer help on this, I have tried to read up about it but the only info I can see is to email NVC which I have already done. I also tried to fill out the "change of address" section of the NVC website, however I assume it was intended for the US petitioner as it only allowed me to input US addresses. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh okay, thanks. I was just confused as it says in the letter my fiance received with the NOA2 that I will be sent a letter. Is it all email communication from now on, or will they send me a letter also later down the line? I appreciate your help

Most communication to the beneficiary will be by email. Their still are a lot of country's that do not have a reliable mail system.

If you find a thread with NOA2 to NVC download the PDF on the first page first post and you will have additional information and contact information.

There is a UK FORUM on here where you might want to ask questions pertaining to your contact by the embassy in London, medical, getting an appointment, etc. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

London will NOT email you. They send a Royal Mail letter to the beneficiary that says they have received your file from NVC. It contains your new LND case number, a photocopy of the approved petition, and a web link telling you where to get your instructions. Three weeks is too soon to expect the embassy in London  to have your case already.  The petitioner will receive notification from NVC that also contains the new LND case number and notification that they have forwarded your case to London. People also call NVC and ask for their case number (LNDXXXXXXXXX) and information about if their case has left there yet.

SO....because you moved, I doubt you will get your letter of instruction from London. It is hard to get that sorted at this point while the case is transiting from USCIS to NVC to London. The good news is...you don't need the actual letter for anything. The enclosed petition copy is just for you to look at in case there's info about your fiancé you didn't know. Don't need it to take to interview. They will have the original. The LND number will also be sent to yourfiance by NVC. And the London K1 instructions in the letter just tell you to find what you need to know here on the website https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

Now ask your further London questions in the UK FORUM or just read lots of posts and you may find good information concerning the London part of your process.

Hi, I have asked this question here before however I have received mixed responses so not sure. People have said I will be emailed, however another person said it will be a letter but I shouldn't need this as this will just let me know LND number and send instructions which can also be found here:

https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

And the LND number will also be sent to my fiance in the US so we can track this. However, I am confused about,  if this is true, whether I would be able to change my address at any point in the future and if so, how, as I understand they also send a letter for the invitation of interview when it gets to this point etc? Or is all communication email and the notification of it being transferred to the London embassy is the only letter I will receive, which I can go without?

Can anyone please offer help on this, it is just so confusing and I'm worrying about it as I don't want to miss anything or do anything incorrectly. Thanks in advance.

Hello again.

Have  you read the link on the embassy webpage I gave you?

If you had, you wouldn't be asking "as I understand they also send a letter for the invitation of interview when it gets to this point etc?"

Only one letter is mailed to you as previously explained. They do not send an appointment letter. You pick your own appointment date and time online and get a confirmation when the selection is successful. You show that confirmation when you get in line at the embassy.  Even if you didn't have it, they would still let you in the door because they have a list of the appointments for the day.

The clinic will book your medical appointment when you can tell them your LND number on the phone. Wait for your fiancé to get the NVC email or call NVC and ask for your number. The day of your medical appointment, they will want to see your LNDXXXXXXXXX number in writing, either the letter from the embassy or the email from NVC. Get your fiancé to forward the email because you likely won't get the embassy letter.

The London embassy instructions on the website changed recently. They messed it up, got it out of order, and it is confusing. Remember the embassy needs to have your file before the interview can be booked (step # 4 below). The rest can be started.

I would suggest::

  1. Submit DS-160.
  2. Gather documents. (for interview as well as documents for medical appointment). You don't want a looming appointment if you hit a hiccup and won't have what you need for the appointment.
  3. Book your medical date by calling the clinic. 020 7486 7822.
  4. Book the courier, pay, and pick an interview date all at the same time on https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv. Select “I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K visa appointment”. Leave 10-14 days between medical and interview for best results.
  5. Attend your medical.
  6. Attend your interview.

Gather documents step is important. See lists:

https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/

http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us-bring.htm

And do read all the information and FAQs on the embassy website instructions. Don't assume you picked up everything you need to know in the K1 threads. Each embassy does things in their own way.

Oh, and back to your new address. When you fill out the DS-160 visa application form, it will ask your address. Put wherever you live now. When you book courier delivery online, you typemin the address where you want the visa delivered.
