Is Nebraska taking more than a year currently or about an year? I saw someone say it is taking 19-25 months!!!!

We just filed online last week and got an estimated NOA2 date of Jan 8th, 2021

I'm sorry to hear. But you never know, maybe Nebraska becomes the fastest location in a couple of months. Things change! Everything will be alright :)

Thanks! We’re getting over the initial shock of getting an estimated NOA2 approval date of Next year & coming to terms with knowing that it could be 2 more years before my husband will be able

to get here.
We will work on getting as much solid evidence in the mean time since we do have a few red flags.

Hi all,

Just wanted to ask whether any of you submitted the G-1145 form (for notification) alongside the online application? We didn't, thinking it's online and should alert us quickly (in theory).

We submitted the I-130 online on Thursday 23rd January and although it did show up quickly as "case received" on the case update page, and email receipt sent, we have yet to receive any notifications.

I know we will probably hear back from them soon but wished to know where our service centre will be for a time frame.

@Xyrstine as far as I understand, you don't need the G-1145 form since online applications are not mailed anywhere, you don't need to be notified. I will submit online in a few days, my application is almost ready and there is no place to upload it anyways.

Thank you. I'm annoying my husband to keep checking his email and mail so much that it's starting to annoy him lol. I did read on here that some people got their receipt very quickly via email and wondered if they had sent that form in. I guess not. Thanks for the confirmation. Will keep waiting.

I assumed ours would be Texas as that's where his jurisdiction falls on but I know that they now randomly allocate.

Good luck with your application. 👍

We just submitted ours last night, got the IOE number right away and our receipts for payment (filed for my son and me concurrently). I figure since they have my husband's email for the receipts, and we can log in at any time to find out the status, we didn't need the G-1145. We are anxious to find out our service centre - maybe all online petitions are defaulting to Nebraska? Guess we'll find out. I'm still worried I forgot to submit something, but I guess we'll find that out, too...good luck to you all!

According to this thread there has been a mixed bag to where everyone's service centers are despite being filed online. I think it's the luck of the draw.

Good luck as well. Wishing we all have a quick journey regardless of our service centers. 🤞

Quick question about online filing for those that have done it already.  Are you able to partially complete the application, sign on later, and continue where you left off?  I don't want to start the online process, realize I forgot something, and have to start over again.

Thanks in advance

Yes, we did ours over the course of a few days... You can just save it and then log back in when you want to continue

Thank you.  That is a big relief.

Did you submit scanned passport style photos in the online application?

Yes. You have to scan the front and back (with your name(s) printed legibly in felt pen since pencil doesn't show up on scanners very well). Note that if your spouse is NOT in the US, you don't have to submit photos for your spouse OR have your spouse sign the I-130A. If you and your spouse are both in the US, you must have photos of yourself and your spouse, and your spouse MUST physically print out and sign the I-130A. You will not have to physically sign the I-130 if filing online as the petitioner.

Are you and your spouse both in the US or are you doing any consular processing? I just wanted to know if that's the difference between getting the nearly-instantaneous NOA1 vs the delay. I'm outside of the US, so doing consular processing. It seems like many people earlier in this thread got their NOA1s within 48 hours.

If both the petitioner and the beneficiary are outside of the US, is this still ok not to sign it ? I (beneficiary) was thinking about signing it anyways, just in case. What do you guys think ?
