Hi guys, I wanted to ask if there is a thread on this forum related to I-130 NVC stage? I tried searching for it, but I couldn’t find one  specifically for spouse visa.

Hi, yes there is one, it gets recreated every month.

Actually, the I-130 and the NVC (DS-260) are two different stages in the immigrant visa process. You probably have to be a bit more specific as to what you are looking to find the right thread.

Yes, I know they are two different stages. Once the I-130 is approved, it gets forwarded to NVC where we have to file DS-260 and provide other required supporting documentation. The reason why I mentioned I-130 is due to the fact that NVC probably receives other approved petitions such as I-129 etc., and I don’t know if the process is the same for all once they get to the NVC stage, so I wanted to be more specific. I am asking if there is a thread about NVC stage of the process (once the I-130 is approved) that related to general information/issues just like we have this one for I-130 online filers.

I had a 1.5-page "relationship timeline" as one standalone attachment that highlighted important milestones during the course of the relationship. It was in table format with two columns: Date and Description of Event. This did not go into detail about in-person meetings.

I also had an attachment with photos taken together and with friends and family as its own document. I added the date and location underneath each photo.

In another attachment, I covered the in-person meetings and visits. This started with a table that had the columns Visit #, Start Date, End Date, # Days, Description, Location, Supporting Documents, and Page #. The Supporting Documents cell summarized what I included as evidence (e.g. flight itineraries, passport stamps, boarding passes), and the Page Number column pointed to the pages within the attachment where that evidence could be found (for all attachments I included my name, the attachment title, and "Page [#] of N" in the footer, where N is the total number of pages).

Because the visit history was a large attachment, I broke it up into three parts and named each one something like Visit.History.Part1of3.pdf, Visit.History.Part2of3.pdf, etc.

When it came to the page numbers on the bottom, Part 2 continued the numbering where part 1 left off and so on.

which section of the online app did you upload this?

Going off of memory here since I can't see the exact interface having already submitted everything:

There is a section to upload attachments. Within that, there are certain things (like proof of US citizenship, passport-size photos, marriage certificate, etc.) that are specifically requested and have their own upload prompt. Then, there is an option to upload additional evidence of a bona fide marriage - that is where I submitted the majority of my documents.

If you haven't already, start the online petition and browse around to get a feel for how it works.

I submitted 80 photos, 4 to a page. Ours covered a period of 10 years together. Most people probably submit fewer than I did, so keep that in mind.

I probably submitted about that much over 2 years.

But also it's about quality of evidence.

For us, I felt our photos was some of our strongest evidence.  I made full page photo collages with many small multiple size overlapping photos arranged to try and show our story, and then with overlapping text comments to highlight important details.  It was probably only a 5 or 6 page pdf but maybe 60 or 70 pictures ranging from quarter page size to postage stamp size.   The "at a glance" visual effect of so many happy faces at different times and places and with many family members around as well, is quite compelling and authentic.

Yes, I think that is great evidence that can help you get approved quickly, dependent on the scenario, of course.  I submitted I-130s for my wife and step-daughter, and I think the photos were especially important for my step-daughter, to show that we are family.  From the time I met her when she was 7 until now when she is 16.  I did it a timeline format with text for most photos.  I used MS Word and I think I put 6 photos on each page.  I just tried to make 2 family photos per year, usually travel, and showing her holding her U.S. citizen baby step-sisters!

I also did a detailed travel timeline, without pictures, showing our travel documents together.
