Please fill out your timeline.

Every case is different.

The I-130 is more about the petitioner and the marriage bonafides.  If the data is lacking and the attachments needing foreign verifications it can take very long at the USCIS.

akazenishi - I just received the NOA1 in the mail today however, I wouldnt stress too much as long as you have the soft copy notification.

Thanks for letting me know! I will try to be less stressed out 😂 but because I always got the user-defined error when I use the USCIS case status check (though I can still check the status via my online account) I am just a bit worried and hope it is technical issue, but I think I would feel more secured to have some hardcopies in hand haha

I have created an account at https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do and am able to add my case by using receipt number. However, when I clicked on the case number and nothing was shown up. Is this something that I have to worry?

Hello VJ members! My wife and I applied for the I-130 July 15th online. I've got a few questions for those of you more experienced than I.

What exactly is a priority date? Is this the date you can expect a decision by, or something else?

I was sure I read somewhere here that you can see your NOA1 (before it arrives in the mail) in the myUSCIS portal - is that correct, if so where would I find that?

And a more subjective question, but what are people's general predictions regarding online processing times with COVID-19 and the potential USCIS furlough? I hear they may shut for a minimum of 30 days in August and maybe longer. I remember reading in this thread prior to COVID that people seemed to be getting reasonably fast approvals, but surely that has to be out the window now? Yet on the flip side, so many other visa categories have been suspended right now that our CR-1 Visa might have a better shot? I have no idea.

We Met: 14/02/2017

Relationship: 17/03/2017

Engaged: 01/01/2019

Married: 05/17/2020

I-130 Filed: 15/07/2020

NOA1: 15/07/2020

NOA2: 26/05/2021

Priority date does not really apply to IR1/CR1.  It's the date you filed.

I have not seen anything positive about non-expedited USCIS cases.  NVC possible, USCIS no.   I would be surprised if the furlough is only for 30 days.

My husband and I submitted our I-130 back in Jan 2020. We have managed to get our case through to NVC and be documentarily qualified (DQ) 10 July 2020. Things seem to have been fairly swift for us, but we have not gone through any expedited processing.

We are now of course waiting to see what happens with next steps. I need to get an interview date at the embassy, but it seems there is quite the backlog of appointments for others who have been DQ for some time and have had their appointments scheduled for March 2020 cancelled.

I would say, don't be too dejected about it. If the embassy is resuming more services next week, then theoretically NVC should be able to send some more cases over to the embassy and create a little more capacity for processing.

Does that help? I don't know if that helps. Moral support if anything!
