Just scan it if you feel better about it. This is what we did, we signed them and we scanned front and back.

We used our scanner at home, you really don't want to use your phone for this...

Thanks for the answer but did you scanned as the real size ?? With names on back?  you got approved?

We scanned everything with the same resolution as other documents. Yes, names and signatures on the back. We have a long wait before approval!

Hello. I'm new here.

I just filed an I-130 online for my husband today (Saturday June 27,2020). I'm a US citizen but I've been living abroad since I was 13.

I have an uncle who lives in the US and so I listed the mailing address as his address and I listed both of his phone numbers (with his approval). Will this affect my case?
Also, I'm a bit worried about the NVC stage. The AOS particularly. Since I've never lived in the US as an adult, how can I provide that? My uncle is willing to sponsor my husband, but they said that the petitioner also needs to fill out an AOS and it has to have proof of domicile in the US and tax returns (which I don't have).

Has anyone been through this before? Will I be able to get this cleared up through the embassy from where I live after I (hopefully) revieve the NOA2 from USCIS?

I'm planning to move to the US with my husband, but I need him to go with me.

Hi. I've been reading this thread for 2 hours and I'm still on page 12 (doing other things on the side too + crappy internet), so I'm not sure if someone has asked these before. Please forgive me in advance :). I thought online filing was easy but we couldn't even get past the first part lol.

1. My US citizen husband lives in the Philippines with me and he doesn't have a US phone number. Can we use a virtual US number?

2. Should the affidavits be notarized?

Thanks.

Yes

Only use affidavits if you have no other bona fides to provide.   They provide little value to a petition.

Thanks, Paul & Mary. What documents would be of greater value?

What we have right now are a marriage certificate, certificate of eligible dependent from our employer (we both work for a public international organization in which the US participates), photos of our trips together and of the weddings (we had a Christian marriage celebration a month after our civil wedding).

That is all good.  We included copies of our Mexican Driver's Licenses (to show we lived together) and I was able to add her to Capital One credit card and a few checking accounts and added her as beneficiary on my life insurance.

He did add me to his life insurance as a beneficiary. We should include that then. Thanks again!

Going back to the 2nd question on my first post, I guess it doesn't matter whether or not affidavits are notarized, given their little value? There's no mention of it on the instructions and we get contradicting info online.

It doesn't really matter.   I personally would not include them as they often detract from the better evidences.

That's my initial thought when I read the instructions because really affidavits would be very easy to fake. But it seems everybody is submitting them so I had some family and friends write affidavits for us. I have only been reading about this immigration process for 2 weeks intermittently,  and this is the first time someone has actually said what I thought initially. Will talk to my husband about it, it seems he's keen on submitting them anyway. Thank you for your inputs!
