Hello,

The exact same thing happened to us. Our NOA1 stated Texas then we were transferred to Nebraska on February 23rd - our NOA1 date is February 3rd 2020.

Thats a few cases I’ve heard of that have been transferred into Nebraska, unsure of the reason.

Nothing much to do but wait it out unfortunately.

Very frustrating for sure. It's already a long process, then to have I doubled because of a transfer is worse!

I was curious to know if my case had been transferred from Texas (where it originally went to). I logged into My USCIS portal and sent a message (instead of an inquiry). I got a response back (within an hour) with an automated response. The instructions directed me to check for Vermont Service Center times on the USCIS website. So I assume my case was transferred to Vermont. If this message is based on where your case is now, it's a pretty efficient way to learn if your case was transferred without having to call them.

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has had experience or knows much about service centre transfers. Tried to do some research, but all the reasons listed don't seem to line up with our case. My Husband (a US citizen) filed the I130, and it was accepted at the Texas centre. Today, after talking to someone from USCIS on the phone, we got word that it was being transferred to the Nebraska centre...which has processing times that are twice as long. According to the phone call there were no red flags or indication as to why the transfer is occurring. We know that transfers are common to help with work loads, but being transferred to a centre with processing times that are doubled seems a bit strange. Trying not to get too discouraged by the change. Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?

I am pretty sure that is happening because some people are dedicated to processing online applications. You should be getting approved sooner than the current Nebraska processing estimates would have you believe.

I really hope so. We had to file with me being out of the country because of COVID19. Now with all the boarder closers we can't even visit each other. Really upsetting at the thought of it taking so much longer. Fingers crossed its quicker than what is states!

I just filed online for my husband this morning. I'm a ball of nerves, but I know we'll be okay. We filed for my permanent residency to move to Canada 9 years ago, so I think we'll be okay going the opposite way this time around.

Hi Everyone - we applied online and when we download the case snapshot, it shows the petitioner's signature on page 9 (name that was typed) and date. However, it shows the box that says "I can read and understand English, and I have read....." as unchecked! Do you guys also see that box unchecked? We remember checking it before submitting. Please help!

@Xyrstine, @onek can you guys please check and confirm? Thanks!

Hi! We are abroad and we filed online. I recommend! Much easier and safer, you don't have to worry about shipping documents to the states and you get your receipt (NOA1) almost immediately

Hi,

after trying to figure out the best way of filing from the U.K. I keep going around in circles. I am having issues filing in the online form...

1. entering end dates to things that haven’t ended?

2. Entering a phone/mobile number?
3. province do I put NA to all of these?
4. beneficiaries address outside the US if different from where they live now? Do I just leave the country box with nothing selected and enter NA for the rest?
5.adjustment of status? City/town state? Do I enter NA for these and select the appropriate answers on the next question for adjusting status abroad as it will be in the U.K.

any help would be very much appreciated! ☺️

Just enter the date of filing. If you want to, you can explain in the additional info section that you chose the filing date since you couldn't select present.

2. Entering a phone/mobile number?

Just give your UK number.
3. province do I put NA to all of these?

Provinces are for states/provinces for the addresses outside U.S. Since you are in UK, you would enter province not state.
4. beneficiaries address outside the US if different from where they live now? Do I just leave the country box with nothing selected and enter NA for the rest?

Yes, leave blank.
5.adjustment of status? City/town state? Do I enter NA for these and select the appropriate answers on the next question for adjusting status abroad as it will be in the U.K.

Leave blank.

any help would be very much appreciated! ☺️

Hi

1. We put the current date as the end date and added a note/comment to those sections later explaining that it was impossible to put "present". From what I saw here most people did it this way.

2. If you mean the beneficiary's phone number I put mine with the country code. For the Petitioner's contact info we put my husband's father US phone number.

3. Leave them blank, that should be possible.

4. If you mean Part 3, section 12-13 we put the address where we intend to live after moving. If you're the USC maybe put your parents/some other relatives' address? That's what we did.

5. If I understand correctly and you both live in the UK now in Part 4  you fill out sections 59-60 and 62. The rest blank :)

Hope that will help you :)

Our case snapshot showed similar and we got an RFE. However, our RFE said that they did not get an I-130 from us even though we did it online. I called USCIS and the officer said they do have the I-130, but it is not signed. It is getting sooo frustrating. You have to digitally sign and check that box in order to complete your submission and move on to payment so basically every completed online application should already have this! We responded with our RFE taking screenshots of the entire process including the section saying you can read and understand english etc., and agreeing to a digital signature. I wrote out a letter of limitations of the online application and pointing out the descrepancies so hopefully USCIS can fix this issue and prevent others from getting an RFE for the same thing. We also sent in a copy of the case snapshot and a handwritten I-130. All with wet signatures.

What???? Now you are making me nervous. I didn't take screenshots of us filling the online form, since I thought it's all there anyway. Can other please weigh in if this is common for all online filers to not have that box checked?

I am thinking your case may have been an outlier because some USCIS employee messed up and didn;t realize that online petitions dont need petitioner's signature. In any case you are lucky to have gotten a RFE rather an outright denial. Good luck!

The box is also unchecked on my case's snapshot. I think it's really stupid of them to create a problem over this. The online form has a validation and you can't submit it without checking this box.

thanks for the help above! ☺️

so as the U.K. doesn’t have provinces put NA or is it classed as our term for county?

also could someone please confirm a passport situation. One of my children I am applying for is only 6 months so does not have a passport or traveled to the US yet. Obviously I would answer no to the question of travelling to the US. However do I still need to put a passport number in or would I put NONE?  I’m aware he will need one for the next step of NVC and will get one ASAP I just wanted to get in line for our I-130 and not have to wait for his U.K. passport to arrive.

Many thanks 😊
