Just wanted to ask- has anyone that filed online recently (within the last 3 months or so) gained any approvals? I'm seeing a lot of very quick approvals that have been mainly by those that have mailed in via paper form (both here and Facebook). Just wondered if there was a trend there.

I hope that's not the case... that would be a bummer. I filled online on Jan 26. Still no update.

I think a recent approval case here was filed online so it may not be true. Guess it's like pot luck lol. My service centre is Nebraska so I'm not holding my breath.

Approvals timeframe probably differ based on service centers and not online vs paper.

It makes more sense for online cases to get slightly faster than paper based.  it has more checks in place online which requires you to make sure aren’t leaving required fields blanks and it is in their system immediately vs manual process where people can make more mistakes and someone has to manually input the data into their system.
Good Luck

Noticed that only recently. Prior to that, most were filed via post.

It is bit crazy that some Nebraska folks are taking a year while others are getting processed in a month!

I would think that online would go faster now since there is a health concern in actually touching/handling on-paper petitions.

I think there's starting to be quicker approvals in general with this new system, although I know some are still awaiting their approvals from last year. Time will tell really. They are always shifting cases back and forth as well. I agree it is frustrating how it's lacking in fairness. I can't complain as I'm still quite early on in my waiting and have given myself roughly a year. Hoping it's before that though. Every approval and day is a step closer to our own.

Hi All,

Just logged in to check and it was approved after being sent to Nebraska!  I filed online Feb 2020.  Is this the actual approval aka NOA2?

I am so surprised and ecstatic.  Truly surreal after reading so much information explaining how approvals are only going to happen in 12 months++

Hi folks @onek, @T&S_MTL, @Xyrstine, @lilyl82 - A few quick questions I hope fellow online filers can help me with:

1. I remember that a couple of months back some online filers were getting RFEs and being asked to upload page 9 of the I-130 form with petitioner's singnature. I wonder if that has happened to a lot of people?

2. What documents need a signature before upload? We singed the following:

  • I-130A page 3 (beneficiary signed, and selected date from calendar)
  • I-130A addendum for additional address history etc. (beneficiary signed and dated each page)
  • I-130 addendum for additional information (petitioner singed and dated each page)
  • Cover letter (not required, but petitioner signed and dated)

Any other last minute checks before sending that I should be doing?
