The United States has laws that prohibit sex with minors in other countries and has greatly increased government efforts to combat this problem. Under the Protect Act of 2003, United States citizens or residents who engage in sexual activity abroad with a child under 18 can face 30 years in a U.S. prison. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is now actively investigating American sex tourists abroad and making arrests.

 Excellent point to remember

Filed: K-3 Visa Country: Guyana
Timeline

A Note for K1/K3 for Guyana:

Neither process is faster when it comes to this country.

Yes, your paper work will be approved faster in US for K1/K3 but once it hits Guyana, prepare for fatigue and restless nights.

Every Guyanese user on this board is waiting or had to wait.

Cshell: 2.5 months (visa granted)

Mini: almost 4 months – K1 (waiting)

Myself: 6 weeks – K3 (waiting)

and more…
