It's extremely agitating when people who filed weeks after I did already have their biometrics appointments scheduled. There might be multiple lines, but everything should pull from the same queue, and performance issues should be managed internally. We all paid the same amount yet receive different qualities of service. I am aware we are talking about the US government but this is some of the problems people are referring to when they say the US government is the most inefficient organization on this planet..

I will be calling up next week, but I am sure I will simply get the "nothing else has been mailed out" response. It's incredible this process can take 10 months in total for some people and literally 3x longer or more for others. I wish everyone here the best though!

Interesting, mine was received 4 weeks before both of these and still no biometrics...

Maybe it's related to the field office. Mine is Dallas. Which field office do you belong to?

NBC.

That is the center where you filed your case. The field office is the one where your interview will be taking place (it's the USCIS field office that's closest to where you currently reside).

Detroit.

I called up USCIS and they confirmed nothing has been sent out 7 weeks after filing. They just submitted a request to have one sent out and said give it 30 days to receive one. That would be almost three months after filing to receive biometrics.

The applications have moved to Field Offices already? I thought when you filed concurrently, everything is handled at NBC. When I check processing times for i-130 and i-765 on the USCIS website I don't see any options for field offices in the drop-down menu - just service centers.

Sorry, I misspoke. You're right, it probably does not move to the field office until it goes to "ready to be scheduled for interview" stage. I thought maybe it matters even in the biometrics stage since it is done locally but it seems like most people's applications follow the same timeline up till biometrics so it looks like this isn't the case.

However, based on the following thread, it seems like biometrics is also dependent on the local office - https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/725884-two-months-without-biometrics/

Update;

My case status changed to “Notice was returned to USCIS because the post office could not deliver it”. After calling up twice over the past two weeks to ensure the right address was on file,  it seems they sent out another notice (which I imagine is biometrics) AGAIN to the wrong address. It goes on to say this could have a severe effect on my case.

I called up to discuss this and they said they don’t know what the returned notice was, and to call back Monday to speak to someone higher up.

I’m at a loss for words, once is an accident, twice is negligence. Absolutely fuming right now.

That’s very unfortunate, But I’d do a change of address. I know they claim to have your actual address but just to clear have them update it. Also check with your post office. My lawyer had advised me to get a mail box at the post office. I doubt they could mess your mail up if it’s being left in the same building. Look into those options. We’re all humans and we make mistakes but sometimes so cause more damage than others
