Good day friends,

I'm excited to say that the process for a K1/K2 visa for my fiance it's been going so fast and smooth at the same time I'm a little confused, on the last letter I received from the NVC in Juarez there are some instructions to fill out the Form DS 160 online but since we don't her passport yet i can't continue with the process because the passport number is one of the thing the DS160 form is asking for

The passports will be delivered on November 25th 2019, my concern is that the time goes by and we haven't completed the form yet and/or created an account to get an appointment day for the interview

Hello Turo,

You should be fine, nothing really expires and you can create an account without having the passport information. Good luck!

The fact that we create an account doesn’t necessarily means we can proceed to make the appointment right?

i mean, my understanding is that to schedule an appointment we have to summit the fees for each applicant first, is that right?

I would like to share my recent updates with a brief recap hoping to get an advise on what to do

On September 9th 2019 my K1 application was approved by the USCIS and sent to the NVC

On October 1st 2019 the NVC notified that my Application received in Ciudad Juarez Mex.

On October 9th 2019 I received instructions from American consulate in Juarez Mex to complete the DS-160 form online and also to make an appointment for the interview for the Visa

We haven't been able to create and appointment  because a mexican passport for my fiancee's son hasn't been granted for him from the biological father but he he does not grant permission to him

At this point with this pandemic situation and the time that is taking to get his mexican passport, im afraid the NVC in juarez is going to discard my application

Is there something I need to do to put a hold to my I-129f application

Do you think my application already expired and dropped the case?

Consulates can extend validity in 4-month periods for up to a year.

E-mail CDJ, perhaps with "Extension Request for ____" [petition or A#] in the Subject line.

Ask the status, briefly explain your situation, and request extension.

Let us know their response.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi TBoneTX, Just found out my application I129f application expired which I understand the rules but even when I sent a request to extend the period to complete this application but It looks like they let it expire anyway

The pandemic situation is a huge factor for us which affects the our process to get this done, documents that we need from the Mexican government and unfortunately everything is on hold a the moment the office are closed

worst case scenario will be to re apply for the same Visa, but my question what are the chances for me to recover that application that just expired? (see attachment)

Send them a copy of your earlier request, stating that you would like a review.

And involve your Congressman's immigration liaison.
