Hello everyone! So my joint sponsor is single and will only sponsor me but she started working in 2016 and that year she only made $20,000, but for 2017 and 2018 she made around $25,000. USCIS requires $21,137. My question is if that would be a problem for 2016 year that she made less and will not qualify for sponsoring me? TIA

Hi, I am not the NVC officials and they will make the decision about this based on numerous other factors (income, assets, risk factor, likelihood to become a public charge, etc.) -- but from my personal experience:

In 2016 and 2017 I made less than $7000 as I was a student at the same time. In 2018 after graduating, I was making over 35k -- but my tax return from 2018 only showed 17k since I had this job for only 4 months before the end of the fiscal year. The NVC approved our petition.

I provided evidence from my employer as well as paystubs and deposits to demonstrate I made 35k

The most current Tax return is most important. Since 2018 shows $25,000 then that should be sufficient enough.
