Determination of workload at the various centers, is my understanding.  In "my" day, it was according to which state the petitioner lived in.

Even though they say otherwise, I am convinced that the state the petitioner lives in is still the determinant of which service center it is assigned to. They used to call it "jurisdiction over which the service center serves". My research confirmed in all the cases I reviewed that this system is still largely in play. I checked for all petitioners on the east coast from MA to GA and each of them got assigned to Potomac SC. I live in the DC metropolitan area and was sent there as well as previous predecessors. By the way,  Potomac SC is located in Arlington, VA (DC Metropolitan area).

Page 1 of the recent timelines implies evidence to the contrary of this: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=a&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op66=All&op7=All&dfile=No&adv=0

Viewable record #1 is assigned to TSC but the I-130 petitioner is from MA.

Viewable record #2 is assigned to Nebraska but petitioner is in Utah.

Viewable record #4 (#3 has no home state listed) is assigned to Potomac but petitioner is in NC

Viewable records #5 + #7 are assigned to TSC but they are from Michigan and Colorado.

Page 2 has somebody from NY assigned to TSC as well. it also has somebody from Colorodo assigned to Potomac.

(Specific links not included for privacy)

So:

1) Somebody from MA got Texas

2) Somebody from Utah got Nebraska

3) Somebody from Colorado got Texas. Another person got Potomac. They filed within a week of each other.

Supposedly, submitting an I-129F to the Nebraska Service Center after the I-130 submission helps to speed up the approval of the I-130. Although it seems, like no one who received an IOE case number (all I-130’s submitted since July 1st 2019) has had their I-129F denied and the I-130 approved yet.

So this forum is for everyone who filed an I-130 (since July 1st 2019), got assigned to the Nebraska Service center, received an IOE case number and then submitted an I-129F (K3).

Please submit the date of

- Your I-130 NOA1

- Your I-129F NOA1

and keep us posted as soon as you get a progress on either one of the forms.

I’ll make a spreadsheet to see if there is a pattern.

Good luck to all of you!

I filed the I-130 in May and it went to Nebraska. I filed the I-129f in Oct. 14th and it was mailed to Texas but a few days later was sent to Nebraska , I'm assuming because that is where the I-130 is at. They have had our petition now for almost 6 months and the I-129f for 35 days and I have only gotten the NOA1  for both cases. I have about 5 case tracker apps on my phone and they all day the same, case recieved. It is very frustrating to check these sites several times daily and nothing. Some peoples cases have moved along after sending the I-129f but most have not. I just wish the processing center in Nebraska could manage to process these cases faster. All we want is to be reunited with our spouse. My husband is sick and I just want him here to get medical treatment. We have spent so much money trying to keep 2 households up and me traveling back and forth. I pray all of us at the Nebraska SC start hearing news soon! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!

Just thinking if they will ever review I-129F visas that start with IOE?  What is everyone's toughts? They can't/shouldn't just ignore them.  Would it do any good for us at NSC to contact our representative and request they look into the delay in Nebraska verses the other SC that take 1/2 the time?  Venting just a bit...lol  :protest:

No such thing as an I-129F visa. I-129F is a petition. :P

That said, I wouldn't hold my breath on congressional intervention on a process that is being used to try to speed up the I-130 processing (notably, ahead of other I-130 filers). If any speed enhancement existed, it was outside the intended pathway.

They‘re for sure going to review it ☺️ It‘s an actual process - not just to speed things up.

If you check the processing times, the I-129F takes about 7.5-9 months at NSC. So at some point during that timeframe we should be able to expect an answer - otherwise, if the date shown on the processing times list has past, you can call USCIS and ask them why it‘s taking longer that the average time.

My theory of the „Speeding things up“ thing is - now that I know that it doesn‘t seem to work for the IOE numbers - that they‘re trying to get rid of all paper based applications asap so that they only have the online petitions remaining - which is the new process. Should take them approx. 1 year (as that‘s they‘re current average processing time).

That‘s why they might have sped up the I-130’s who sent an I-129F as well, as the I-129F petition would create additional paperwork on top.

I'm just talking about congress looking into why NSC takes so much longer in general than the other SC.  Not for them to look into the I-129F petition "flow"

Good idea to have a separate thread as I believe the IOE receipts will be processed differently so some things won’t apply to those who have the original receipt numbers.

Will be interested to see if there’s anyone who has had theirs processed already too.

Hi S&J

I assume you guys didn't get any feedback on your I-129F yet, right?

I was just thinking about this today since you're 108 days from your I-129F NOA1 - so the one with the earliest NOA1 on my spread sheet for this forum 🙂.

According to the processing times website, the I-129F currently takes between 7.5 - 9.5 months at the NSC. So, looking at the current date - after which you can submit a case inquiry - you should be able to submit a "outside normal processing time" inquiry by the end of May 🙂
I'm very curious to see what happens until then and I wonder if they'll just deny the I129F and then wait another 2 months or so to approve the I-130 or if it'll go hand-in-hand (denial / approval) 🤔

Plus hopefully the now electronic process for I-130 will increase their speed in processing times... 😩

I wish I could give you good news, but no, still no progress 😭

I know we are probably one of the earliest ones with IOE that also sent in for the 129f too as I’ve not seen anyone with earlier dates comment.... I was looking this morning what date they’re “officially” working on and it said sometime in February.

Still hoping that we will get some news this side of Xmas, if not before April at the latest and based on my calculations that’s the latest we can still hope we’d get approved in time for moving in the summer and my daughters being able to start school 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
