Okay thanks, I didn't realize this. Where does it state that?

Embassy website:

 EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form may be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You may also be asked to submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Download Form I-134 at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis.

Ah, I missed that. I should have a copy of mine somewhere.

I might as well ask, since it's just asking for the most recent, why do some provide the last 3 years?

Either because they are for spousal visas,  self employed or don't know any better and think that the more pounds of paper they submit will get them through

YMMV

Because they get bad advice ...  joined an FB group  ...  "a friend" told them 3 years were required        Always good to ask them to  "show me the beef" -  a link to a gubermint website and/or document that states "this"

Only the most recent tax return is required for AOS once in the USA and married also, USCIS may ask for 3 years if necessary, but only the most recent is required.

As for USEM and the K-1 .. IF they even take the support evidence, they will only take the most recent tax return.    Since 2014 USEM has been very sketchy about taking any support evidence ... it is listed as required by you, but they don't always want it.

Another question, does it have to be the I134? Can I use the I134EZ, if I meet the criteria?

I-134  just as stated by the embassy.

BTW you only need to list your gross income, don't need to list assets and such.

I sent tax transcripts for my affidavit of support from the IRS website.

The TAX RETURN TRANSCRIPT from IRS is a transcript of the 1040 form.

The WAGE AND INCOME TRANSCRIPT is a transcript of the W2 form.

I sent 3 years of both with employment letter and pay stubs.

Some have said CO prefers transcripts to original 1040s?

Embassy is only interested in the MOST RECENT tax return.   And don't be surprised if the don't even ask for any support evidence

But for the USEM it's either tax return trancript  or 1040  and W2s?

Thanks

The transcript is much easier for the Embassy. If they even ask for them...
