Hi Everybody!

My wife had her interview on Oct 18th 2019. That was her interview but I flew from United States to join her interview.

Everything was good on interview, Officer did not ask many questions from wife but did question from me about my previous marriage. But everything went well on interview. The only thing we didn't have with us was our "Urdu Nikkah Nama"  but we had Nadra's registered marriage certificate along with us.

I told the officer it is same as "Urdu Nikkah Nama" matter of fact the "Nadra's marriage certificate" is made out from "Urdu Nikkah Nama" and it is same to same information on both. But officer mentioned the original signatures are on the one is in Urdu so that is also important along with Nadra's.

I was 100% positive that Visa would be issued right there by seeing the body language and behavior of the officer, but officer said in the end Embassy can't make the decision till they don't receive "Urdu Nikkah Nama" and handed me the the same white paper stating to mail "Nikkah Nama" ,which I mailed out two days later, and on 25th October case was updated and thats it after that no updates or anything.

I email embassy and put an inquiry but no response from them.

Its almost going to be 3 months now still no update or reply.

I'm really frustrated by  Embassy's slow process. Citizens should not be suffering from this long and unnecessary process, matter of fact no one should.

Hi K.Syed88,

It looks we are on the same boat. My wife had her interview in June 2019. We had all the docs and was told that further review is needed. I am not sure if its regarding the our previous marriages that they tend to have us wait a bit more than others. All my other friend wives have been granted Visa within 3 Months from interview. I also didn't had any update after the interview for 3 months until I submit an inquiry. Also, please make sure to submit the inquiry from your Wife's name and email and not yourself. They didn't respond to my inquiry but once my wife submitted it they responded in 3 days. It's been 6+ months and last update was in December. Will be going to Pak against next month to spend time with her. Hopefully, some positive news by then

Hi there,

Hope all is well, Yes I'm thinking the same here about previous marriage.

In my case I was previously married not my spouse but after providing divorce decree from Court the embassy has the proof for previous marriage termination so it shouldn't take them long time to decide.

On other hand in this forum and same article other users are not previously married so I'm thinking why their case is taking so long?

That was good suggestion by you stating to submit inquiry on my wife's name . I would certainly do that. I'm also going to meet Congress man and have them inquir this case.

You Have a great time back home with your wife and hope you here good news soon. Good luck!

Hey buddy,

I did submit through courier though but did not uploaded, they asked me send it through courier so I did that.

Question for you,..were you previously married? Because you mentioned that you uploaded previous wedding pics.

In my case I was previously married. I'm trying to figure out if someone was previously married in that case they take longer then usual or this procedure is for everyone whom has the interview at Islamabad embassy?

I am not sure if in this forum there is someone who’s case took longer due to previous marriage but I know couple of people personally. Again, it all depends case by case, people with divorce have gotten the Visa within a week as well.

So if you are going to submit an inquiry with your Wife’s name than I would hold off on Congress Man’s inquiry for 30 days. You’ll get a response with ur Wife’s inquiry but if there aren’t any case updates after the response than just reach out to CM after 30 days of no case update. Just sharing experiences.

Also; I submitted my additional docs via AEG as well. No need to upload CEAC. My wife had those docs with her during the interview but I guess they forgot and told us to submit after 90 days lol....

inshaAllah all of us get to meet our Loved one ASAP!!

Typically if approved at the interview you are told you'll get your passport in a few weeks not an email.   It sounds like you may be getting the questionnaire.   Keep your eye out for the e-mail and contact them if you don't receive it in a few weeks.  Where you given a piece of paper that explains 221g?

Unfortunately Islamabad is not very consistent.   There is a paper that is given if your case is approved listing next steps, if refused for AP and a refusal that is being returned but many times no paper is given and you leave confused.

The only thing you can do is wait for the email.   If you get a questionnaire then your case is refused for Administrative Processing and will take an unknown time to complete.  They typically do not email regarding an approval until after an extended Administrative Processing.  In either case at the moment your case is in AP ( all cases go through AP) but how long and the next step is unknown hopefully you'll hear something soon.
