Has anyone upgraded his or her case from F2A to IR1 in Vermont Center... if yes, kindly share your experience. PD August 2018, case was transferred to Vermont on September 18th. Still waiting approval. Hubby just became a US Citizen...

If the case is still with NVC , then email them using the public enquiry form alerting them of your naturalization. Attach a copy of your citizenship cert or biographic data page of your US passport. ... If the case is still with USCIS then write to the service center processing case with a copy of your citizenship certificate. Hope this helps.

Okay, but I wanted to find out the number of months it would take for the case to be approved at Vermont after upgrade ...

Thanks for your input though.

U should be getting an approval soon. It's taking from 11.5 to 15 months for that visa category. Did Vermont transfer it? If.so where is it transfered to? U can go to Uscis.gov and look at the processing times for all the service centers.

Hi

I am a permanent resident. I came to the US with my 17 year old daughter. I filed i130 for her and it was approved but the approval letter states that the file has been transferred to NVC. What does this means or implies. Can someone enlighten me on what is about to happen .

Thanks

If the case has been sent to nvc then it means it has been approved and ready for consular processing. But if your daughter is already here in the states then nvc won't need to come in. Her case will be kept here and an adjustment of status would be done here. Call nvc and inform them she is here in the US and they will send the case back to Uscis for an adjustment of status to be done here.
