It seems that at least weekly there are a couple of postings with the same topic. Be proactive and contact Seoul and tell them what you want to have happen. Keep in mind the transfer is at the discretion of the receiving embassy/consulate.

REF: https://www.uscis.gov/i-129f , Instructions, page 6.

It is difficult, is not impossible, to determine the length of your delay as a consequence. You are talking about international diplomatic mail from one embassy to another. Heck, it is often tough to try and figure ou domestic mail delivery times.

Post back with the details of your successful international file transfer. Good luck on your immigration journey.

Yes! I already sent a email to Seoul embassy as soon as I found out NVC assigned Abu dhabi embassy for our interview.

A week later, they confirmed that Abu dhabi embassy got our  case and already sent official request to transfer our case to Seoul.

I'll post it here again once I figure out this situation, thanks a lot !!! 🙂

Hi! Thank you for update. :) I'm on the same page with you now.

Seoul embassy confirmed that Abu dhabi embassy got our case from NVC and they sent an official request to transfer. They said it might take 5 to 6 weeks.... so I guess we gotta wait until they get our actual documents. Please let me know how it goes, Good luck to both of us! 🙂

:wow:Speedy DHL mail service? I have no personal knowledge of DHL delivery, though is it may be safe  to say the AP at the respective embassy/consulate  is likely a rate-limiting step.  Maybe another forum savant can enlighten us mere mortals?

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

Keep in mind governmental agency like to project when something will happen further out then it actually does. They do this so you are disappointed (if you aren't already) in their performance. I see most delivered to 2-3 weeks.

So I finally got an answer from Paris about what happened to the paper file. I'm shocked at the timeline, how is this even possible? If I had know that it can take this long I probably would have organized a few journeys to Paris rather than request the transfer:

Dear Madam,

Your paper file left our office on October 28th 2019. Transfers  may  take from one month to six months.

Sincerely,

Immigrant Visas

Wow.. one month to six months? I’m shocked as well - but I’ve never seen any case that needed 6months to transfer tho. Does transfer request has a different timeline between embassies? :( I thought it was 4-6weeks.....

I’m also still waiting for the response from Seoul embassy about receiving our file. Today I checked our case status (on ceac.state.gov) and it still showed’ READY’. But ‘case last updated’ date has been updated. (From 11/14 to 11/25) Has your ‘updated case date’ changed as well?

I really hope our both cases will be transferred quickly to each embassies! 🍀

Yes our case gets updated every one to three days, I think its the embassy staff checking if any new files have come in or something, doesn't seem to mean anything as far as I can tell. However that might be different between embassies, maybe in your case it does mean something? I sure hope we will both be on the shorter end of that waiting period! Fingers remaining firmly crossed!!!

Relax and avoid chasing windmills.:clock: Please realize that there are no set timelines for inter-embassy transfers. It is akin to no set timelines for AP.....It happens when it happens.

Wohoooo, my package 3 just arrived!!! Thats 45 days from transfer request by embassy to receiving package3 from the destination embassy in our case. I'm soooooo relieved it wasn't six months :D :D :D

That is good news!! Hopefully the OP's file will soon be delivered, so that they can then start wating for the next phase in their visa process to begin. 👍 Sometimes it has been likened to watching paint dry... B-)

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Yes, I hope they will have an update for us soon as well :) Shouldn't be long now, our transfer requests weren't far apart.
